Update: the latest version has fixed all the problems I had. Good job, ZenMate! Old review: The VPN service from Zen is fine — no complaints at all. However, this app is highly variable. When it works, it’s fine. But from time to time it gets into a state where all the location choices are unavailable, except for the current one. Restarting the app doesn’t fix this, and sometimes even restarting the device doesn’t — I end up deleting and reinstalling the app. It sometimes lies about the location: I pick an endpoint, but then when I query my location using something like whatsmyip.org it is the default endpoint. Another complaint is that the VPN sometimes turns on unprompted.
