*I use an iPhone 5s that's fully updated* This app used to be so motivating. I loved the old "goals" feature, where you'd select a goal to reach and you'd get to talk to other people who had the same goal. It was such a great concept! There was a photo that’d post to your feed when you completed a goal, like doing a daily plank, trying out veganism for a month, etc. it was such a unique and motivating concept! But it’s been gone ever since the switch to YouFood from TwoGrand. Also, the old feature that used to let you update your weight easily from the homepage like the water intake. Now the app is as basic as it could possibly be, which is both okay and disappointing. Uploading a photo is laggy and outdated. Feed is confusing and you have to switch tabs to get any of them to refresh. I still use this app to track my food every once in a while. The community and my desire to easily track my food are the only things that keep me on the app, but I tend to get bored with it and stay off for months at a time. I'm an old user and I've never been kicked off or forced to pay. I would honestly delete the app if that happened to me. I do, however, get asked once to pay if I happen to delete and redownload the app. Honestly, it’s funny that this app started to ask users to pay once it stopped being unique. It’s such a generic skeleton of what it once was that it’s not worth any price, in my opinion. I’d happily pay for a no-ads version (it doesn’t have ads, but I wouldn’t argue if they implemented them,) a one-time payment, or a donation if the app was still unique and usable like it used to be. Lastly, I've never been able to connect the app to my Facebook. It always tells me that the criteria of my Facebook account is wrong or something, which I thought was because of my age (I used this app when I was under 18 and some fitness apps don’t allow minors) but I'm 21 now and I STILL can't connect to Facebook. I miss TwoGrand. It was such a big part of my weightloss journey many years ago, but now I'm pretty tired of YouFood. I'll continue to use it on the rare occasion; until they implement a new update that screws me over, then I'll have to look somewhere else. Sadly, this is really the only app that does what it does. Otherwise, I wouldn’t stick around.

Bye Youfood. It was great before they started charging

I’ve been using Youfood since before it was Youfood! I was using it since it was FREE and TwoGrand—about a year in total. Nothing is wrong with the app. It served my purposes. My goal was to be more mindful of what I was eating each day, track my water, track my exercise, and be part of a healthy eating community. The community was great and the UI was great. I loved the layout of all my food photos and the daily habit check-ins (easy to use and very visual). If you want a food journal that feels like instagram and incorporates some basic goal tracking, then I would say this one fits the bill. The reason for the low rating is because of the bad business practices. Seriously? A subscription model? I understand applying the model to NEW users and for the former users be given the option to keep using the app for free or maybe for a discounted monthly price (out of respect), but no, former users have to subscribe monthly after 7-days or they can no longer use the app. I will no longer be using this app which is heartbreaking because I have a year’s worth of entries!

Still missing TwoGrand

-Pay to use is silly. Use ads instead of charging us for the food equivalent of instagram. Or even recipe books or more functions. -Kicked me off of years of work towards health. In other words, put profit above the users who helped populate the app. I repeat: this is just Instagram with a health related twist. It’s not deserving of your money. It’s not unique enough, and the developers unfortunately ended up greedy. The concept is great. It helped me. But I refuse to pay for a service that is undeserving of my money. I also find it funny that the reviews were reset. Go ahead and look at the most recent reviews, not the ones from four years ago.

It won’t work

I was so excited to use this app that I looked for it for hours and I couldn’t find it due the name change. However now that I have found it, it doesn’t work. It stays open for one second than kicks me out

We want the old app back!

Used to use the old app (Two Grand) and loved it, have been struggling with accountability lately so I searched to find THIS as the replacement. Logged in and can’t even get the app to stay open for more than a second or two....so frustrating!! If I get charged the monthly fee for not even being able to open the app and “use” it I will be infuriated! I’m using a fully updated iPhone 7 so why is it not working?? Not happy. Bring the old app back!!!

Motivating and Helpful

It has been about 5 months now and by logging my choices, TG has helped me think through what I am doing. I can look back over a week and see pics of healthy choices or my less proud moments and know where I need to do better. Plus the community is great. Lots of good ideas and I feel a bit competitive and want my own food and exercise log to be great, too! 15 lbs gone and more to go! Woo hoo! **UPDATE 2018: Still a great app! Some have claimed they were kicked off and forced to pay. Never happened to me. When I was absent for a while and got a new phone, I forgot my password and was concerned I may have to resubscribe. I reached out to the developers and they got it all sorted. These guys are terrific! Give them a chance.

Amazing community of support & inspiration!

Life got busy, & I stopped using the app for a year. I am using it again because I missed the accountability, support, & inspiration of the YF community. Guess what? 90% of the people I met a year ago on the app are still using it! ??Great people, recipes, tips, and accountability! I love this app!

Get it!

This app is no longer updated regularly so some wish list items I’ve communicated in the past are still lingering, but the major problems were fixed long ago. The developer (@alex) has moved on and although those who first created their account under TwoGrand have the option to donate funds, they’ve never told us if it will be used to make some quick fixes once the funds allow them to do so or just pay the bills. It’s basically been running in cruise-control since 2017. The founder (@Peter) will still respond if you email him a concern, which is nice. I used to have problems logging water or editing entries, those days are long gone. Notification counts are spot on, but the new notifications get mixed in with the old if you check them as you’re posting. My wish list fix is disabling notifications when others comment after you on a post. I don’t want to be bothered to look over and over again thinking people really liked something I’ve posted, only to find out it’s just comments made after I’ve made a supportive comment on someone else’s post. Great community to become a part of - super supportive users that I’ve even met in person and found true friends in.

Not bad actually!

Lots of immediate love and support from a lot of very kind people. I love that I can follow those with my same dietary needs. I do wish however that there was a place to log calories and daily weight. I've gotten so used to doing that with a diff app that it seems weird not to.
