My company uses yammer to share news about all customers, products, industry trends and the latest is that we are using yammer to help track employee workouts! Very nice!

Separated personal from professional

I have seen other research departments use Google Hangouts. However, it is linked to my Gmail/YouTube account. Yammer is used in the Microsoft apps offered by the university, so it keeps professional items with professional entities.

Yammer is a worthy competitor to Chatter, I find no features missing. it's unfortunate that I have a separate app I have to download.
