Love this App!

Close2myHeart

This is a quick & easy read that gets my day started & wrapped up. And it's free! I read newspapers when I have time for that luxury but pick up most of my news on the net. This app helps me learn what to search further for. Thanks!

Snapshot news

Whizzmaster

Brief snapshots of the events of the day. Perfect to keep informed.

BIND: Because it's not Drudge

scottmd

First I get all the editorialized news from Drudge because the variety makes for entertaining reading. Then I look to Yahoo for the recap of "hard news" for contrast. Two different views. Not sure why the Twitter posts. They do nothing for me. Overall well organized with "just the facts, ma'am".

Yahoo News

Redheadeb

The only online news I read. The articles are clear, concise, and include all pertinent data, without going on for hours.

Read it every day!

Voicewpb

I like the format of this app. Easy to read, keeps me well informed. I recommend it.

Nice balance

RhinoDriver

I read every story every time they change and appreciate the balance and the links where I can go to delve deeper. A secret pleasure is watching the dots representing the stories collide prior to giving me the quote of the day.

Quick read to stay abreast of current events

Marsfastfix

Love this app! This informs me about things that are happening right now - today. Great way to get the news at a glance. Then I can dig deeper on the issues of interest.

Quick snips or more if you like

TundraRunner

Good news snips across the basic news categories. Just the right amount of info, photos without taking time to load. The links are accurate.

Going Downhill

not_mad_just_disappointed

I originally downloaded this app because it was beautiful, informative, and made excellent use of the technology I studied in graduate school. After almost daily use over roughly three years, I'm sad to see the state it is in. Automatic summaries are guaranteed to have errors but luckily we have human curators to catch them. However, lately I have noticed many more errors: duplicate sentences, contradictory sentences, and missed closing quotation marks. I'm not optimistic it will improve and am moving on in search of a better, but still digestible news app.

I'm going to be Honest

This is my only news app with the exception of my local paper and the New York Times. I like to be informed it there are several issues. The articles have poor editorial review so you can find spelling and grammar mistakes particularly in articles from foreign speakers. They really should work on that. There is also a disconnect between side articles about the main article that can border on crazy. They may have an article on Steve McQueen the politico and invite you to learn more about Steve McQueen, the actor. Finally my guess is that most people who read a digest like this is time but mostly the crazy community of liberals, conservatives and full on crazy people. It can be funny and frustrating. The most frustrating can be no feedback from yahoo when someone really goes off the rails. If you see(read)something wrong say something? Well that goes for sites like this. I wonder if some terrorist put it out on line plans to commit terror, could that person be stopped by someone sending "a flag"?Yahoo is very hazy about this. There should be feedback or maybe even a yahoo agent that can have an opinion but be aware some trolls are NOT harmless. I know there are others who face the same. If you mute someone it should be mutual. My stalker continues to follow and comment on my posts even though I can't read their post. Only yahoo can fix this ...if they can blank out words like V---na (difficult when you are in a forum speaking about gynecology) ...they can pay more attention to THEIR community!
