Sounds won’t turn off

I play this game a lot as I wait in Doctors offices unfortunately and I have sounds turned off in WWF settings. Despite this, sounds are played after each word. And to make matters worse, I have lost quite a bit of my hearing and have the sound on my IPhone turned up to the max! Not a good combination. So I turn the sound off and often forget to turn it back on.

Been playing since the og wwf. Just getting the app after a while of not playing and I cannot believe how trashy it looks. I don’t know how you can take such a great game and screw it up. All we ever wanted was to play words with friends. Nobody asked for the BS that is “achievements” “boosts” and “levels”. Time to take this trash out. Give the people what they want.

How do you program the tile bag to give 3 eee’s and 2 oo’s in one draw. Come on people. Show some responsibility. Address it and fix it.

For the upteenth time my practice games have frozen ( 2 out of 3 of them). Tired of logging out, starting over, etc. Why can’t this be fixed? I like the game, but am VERY disappointed and frustrated that this problem continues.

I paid for this game to play ad free. However, although I still do not have ads, there is too much going on. I am not going to give players 3 extra moves, and who would do that anyways. I am so sick of opening this app, to play, and have to wait for it to give me stupid gifts. It isn’t even fun to play anymore and I’ve had some of my friends stop because of all of this. It really looks like some kind of childish game now. I’m ready to call it quits.

I have had this game for about a year and it’s worked great. Recently I upgraded my phone and since I have downloaded the app to my new phone I’m unable to claim any of the prizes and they starting to pile up. Hopefully they can fix that soon.

UPDATE: deleted. An ad after every play now. I mostly play practice games against the computer. Suddenly, since the last bug fix, my practice games keep freezing with the message "oops, something went wrong" and i am unable to release that game by quitting it. After three such "stuck" games it says i have hit my limit of practice games. Please fix this. Also, i agree with the other player who said they hate all this extra junk of achieving levels and accomplishments and not being able to opt out. Please go back to the way it used to be when we could just play a game unmolested by all that unnecessary nonsense. Please get your rules for valid words in order. For example, sometimes abbreviations are valid, sometimes they are not. This is probably why "real" scrabble doesn't allow any, because they are too numerous. And it’s not just abbreviations that are problematic. You need a better dictionary. And finally, get your search functionality aligned with your valid word list. I've had two frustrating experiences. First, i put a word in search and it came back with a definition yet when i tried to play it the games told me it was invalid. Second, when "practice" played a word i didn't recognize (and no definition was displayed) i put it into the search only to be told the word was invalid. Cheat much?

I have played this game for years and years, and i loved it but the new version is terrible. Im with all the others who have written bad reviews. I would not recommend this game unless you like getting frustrated.

Constant Screen Freeze

I experience a screen freeze after every play now and of course it prevents me from, earning points. I have forced quit the app, I have uninstalled and reinstalled it....same mess. I have restarted my device. No fixes. A fun game which turned to crap.
