Accessibility for blind listeners!

Dr ml godin

As a blind person, i love WNYc! Have it perpetually on in the kitchen. Very disappointed that this version has issues- namely no more labeled play button! And even when my sighted boyfriend pointed out the unnamed play "link" it would not play till i turned off voiceover. Haven't had the app for a while, so not sure when it lost the play for blind people feature, but I hope it comes back soon! Thanks, Leona,

So you can get a good dev team to create a working app. I support wnyc, but this is really disappointing.

Very buggy!

I'm a wnyc member and Fan! Please wnyc fix this app, it crashes all the time, it doesn't remember where you left off listening and it doesn't let me access some of my favorite programs.

Hoping for a miracle

Happy to see this major upgrade to what has been a very poor app. So far, so good!

From OK to bad with update

ApplesReviewPlatformSucksToo

Broken update. Erases app data (starred shows, unplayed/played status, saved shows). Also, pauses when app loses focus (such that one can't switch to any other app during playback, it even pauses when the lock screen button is pressed. I'm quite upset about losing play data that, I presume, is not backed up "in the cloud" to WNYC's servers and is irretrievable. Unfortunately, even with the memory and patience to assign such statuses, this "major" update failed to provide any new and useful functionality, such as a way to manually change an episode's played/unplayed status. I fear this app will go the way of This American Life (app), which similarly released a "ground-up" update a couple of years back that hosed user data and introduced new bugs. And then wasn't updated further (at least not in the following year or so). If no WNYC app update comes in the following days, will try migrating to Spotify, which carries many of the same shows, but prevents these software update mishaps by backing up user data to their cloud. They also have the resources to make more complete updates on a more aggressive schedule. ...I don't like that there is basically a monopoly on good streaming services. But if Spotify is the only one that can do the job... WNYC I love you, but you're bringing me down.

Big improvement!

This app bookends my day. Keep it up, WNYC!

Much better

A world of difference! Way better than previous versions

Major regression

Pivory

Streaming live is nearly useless. It's cuts out very frequently, especially compared the the previous version. I wish I hadn't updated. Very disappointing. I find now myself frustratingly turning off wnyc and just listening to something else.
