Used to be ok. Now garbage.

This used to be my go to radio ap. Lately it fails to play current programming (although it shows what’s playing on air) and instead cycles thru commercials, PSAs (i couldn’t care less for Sanjay Gupta’s advice) and short cuts from previous/old shows. Just garbage now.
Only getting old content

This was my go to but in the past month there’s no morning show, only sound bites from old shows. Also, as mentioned in other reviews the recent change to add more commercials hasn’t gone smoothly. It interrupts the content. Lastly, the Chris Plant sound bites might want to be double checked I think a couple of these are posted in error.
Love the station, app is broken

Plays a continuous loop of PSAs and show recaps, but doesn’t get to the live programming. This started with the last update

As a longtime WMAL listener, I have given up on this app. You have to listen to 10-15 minutes of ads & ‘cuts’ advertising other shows, podcasts, etc. Meanwhile the show you want to hear is already in progress, but you are still hearing filler. Tune-in radio has become my friend. WMAL get wise-you are losing listeners!
The worst!
Ended frustration
Great radio station. Absolutely the worst app. Even with all the hang ups I have used it for years when I travel. Not anymore. I deleted it.

Never mind that we have to be subjected to the same carpet cleaning commercial when we tune in every day (I’ve taken to going to the basement and changing the kitty litter during that), but now the app switches over to some dumb gaming ad that you have to physically turn off. And the app cuts off all the time - inevitably in the middle of the news story I have been waiting for. Do yourself a favor and go buy a good old fashioned radio.

The 1st review says it all....you have to refresh constantly to skip the web based commercials....The drunk driving commercial will play in a loop until you refresh. If you like drunk driving commercials playing back to back to back, this ap is for you.

This app used to be great, but ever since the upgrade it crashes ALL THE TIME! So frustrating as I’ve been listening for years all day every day. Now it stops and then I have to open it up and listen to all the promos and commercials. There never used to be any problems. Fix this now!!!

Every iteration has seen this app go from tolerable to intolerable, forcing registration just to listen is the last straw for me. Deleted the app after having it since iPhone 6S came out.

The annoying ads pop up in the middle of a talk show, and your phone screen has to stay lighted otherwise the app shuts off the streaming. Why did wmal stop using Simple Radio??
