When I get a message, I will open the app and the time will not start counting down to delete. I have to close the app and reopen it for the countdown to start

Please consider adding call or video feature in future update. That’s the only thing stopping me from leaving Wire (switched from Signal)

I have used the Wickr app for a couple of years now without issue. I now would like to terminate my account and have been unable to do so. I go into Settings>Terminate>Password>Terminate. Nothing happens. The Terminate bar is shaded gray and unable to be activated. I have sought help for this numerous times only to first be directed to the FAQs section of Wickr, then to finally be told by a support person that it is a glitch in the system. This is unacceptable not to be able to terminate an app that I voluntarily chose to download and subsequently now cannot get rid of. I would not recommend this app strictly for this reason.

Very buggy. App closes regularly. Misbehaves on an hourly basis. Also do not ever forget your password because you will have to create a new account to continue using wickr. Great idea in theory but has not been built well.

You can just save images without notifications and you even made a saving button... this is now whats app... I used to use this app to share intimate pics and conversations between me and the gf because there’s no chance of accidental cloud upload or saving to phone so when you’re talking to co workers or family bam. It feels VERY insecure now.

I hate it when updates take things away. Not having the option to share audio is really a step backwards. The age of technology shouldn't force us to be less human. I enjoy hearing the voice of people I talk to. It was one of my favorite options in this app. It has also crashed on me a couple of times already. At this time I'm simply uncertain if I like anything about this new update. I mean I know you are trying to make it better ... I guess I'd deal with it better if you didn't take away an option I really enjoyed. Please give us audio sharing back. Thank you. Oh and having to manually log out from my profile is another step that's a bit annoying. I always just closed the page and was automatically logged out. It was quick and simple. Update ... I don't get badge app notifications if I'm not logged into the app. I always log out when I'm done talking. So basically I have to periodically log in now just to see if someone left me a message. That really needs to be fixed. Thank you. Update .... Every time there is a new update I keep hoping you will have fixed the badge app notification. It only works if I'm logged in. I don't stay logged in. It's frustrating that I have to log in periodically just to see if someone messaged me. Can you please please fix that. Thank you. Update 2.0 Thank you for the recent update ... Appreciate the locked messages though I miss the little padlock icon. Ok though was hoping you had fixed the badge app notifications. Only works while logged in. Before the NEW Wickr I got badge app notifications while logged out. This is important to me and made using this app a whole lot better. Really is annoying that I have to log in just to see if I have a message. Can you please please fix that. Thank you. Update 3.0 The more I use this app the more I miss what it used to be. I really wish ya hadn't decided to mess with it. It wasn't broken in the least. All I really desired was more audio time as the 30 seconds was too short. But then ya basically took audio away completely. I bet if ya put up a vote most everyone if not all would choose to revert back to the way it was before you decided to update it to something that doesn't feel right anymore. Why oh why ??? I'm feeling really bumbed about it. I miss what Wickr used to be. Update 4.0 THANK YOU !!! With latest update notifications on badge are now appearing while being logged out. Sigh of relief. Everytime there is a new update the first thing I do is check to see if you gave us audio sharing back. Nope. Still not available. ??? Update 5.0 THANK YOU for giving us audio back. Too bad it crashes my phone every time I try to use it. But it works ok on iPad so I'm not completely without. BUT ... why oh why do I have to keep holding the speaker button down just to record ?? I hate being a complainer ... but can you work on not having to do that ? In earlier versions when we still had AUDIO as an attachment I just had to press the button once and talk away ... so as much as I love that you gave us audio back I'd like to see that fixed. Not having to keep holding the button to talk would be grear !! Please. Thank you !! Edit -- I have iPhone 4s with iOS 9. Touch microphone crashes app every time. So I guess it is not iOS 9 compatible though your notes say it is. Thank you. The update fixed it and I'm no longer crashing. :)

Getting better, needs a few more improvements

Recent updates have primarily been bug fixes and tweaks. Still missing several features from the 3.x version but the new addition of secure calls is impressive! Have made calls around the world on 3G data connectivity and quality/clarity was near flawless. Even when I had to use a VPN on those 3G connections! Still hoping the annoying 'instant logout' experience gets fixed (whenever the user switches to other apps.) User should have the ability to set a timeout for 30 seconds, etc. Ditch the video verification. It’s gimmicky and no one I know uses it. What about just scanning a QR code? Something simpler. Features added back in 4.x release: ✅ Tap-to-read (“padlocks” feature) ✅ Anonymous notifications ✅ Granular control of ephemerality ✅ Ability to delete conversations Features still missing: ⚠️ App logout timer controls ⚠️ Ability to delete profile picture ⚠️ Ability to delete contacts ⚠️ Screenshot notification ⚠️ Set default BOR/expiration ⚠️ Message read notifications ⚠️ Better user verification — Previous 2-Star Review — Still missing message-read padlocks. I hear those are coming back soon-ish? Also don't like that notifications now display the other user's name. Liked it better when it just said "New message" and not "Bob has sent you a new message." — Previous 1-Star Review — The app still has a loooong way to go before it will be on the same level as the 3.x version. Really hope those updates promised on the company blog come hard and fast. Otherwise market share will go the way of Sears and JC Penny.

I have never written an app review before, but this mandatory update is so unbelievably ruinous that I feel compelled to warn others. Don't update. Just uninstall and download a different secure messaging app.
