The app is full of people asking for money, advertising only fans or premium Snapchat. Or if you’re lucky enough you’ll get spammed by bots. Whisper devs know about the issues yet do nothing. Been like this for a couple years now.

Some of the men on this app are absolute predators plain and simple. If you post a whisper and mention you’re female, especially if you’re underage, they will pounce on you like lions. Please, if you’re underage for your own safety, steer clear of this app

This app has gotten infested with bots It’s crazy. You make one post and within 5 minutes you get at least 3 bots saying they’re looking for sugar babies or to hookup. Y’all really need to find a way to fix that issue. Otherwise, it’s a decent app.

Great concept but not executed perfectly

Whisper is an interestingly amazing concept - share whatever you want to say to the world anonymously. But there are many bothersome issues that are still present even after my many months of posting over 5,000 replies to other people’s posts. 1. The biggest issue is the lackluster moderation. There’s a never ending supply of bots, pervs, and people that are trying to sell something to you. The worst thing is that this app has an option to set your age range between 15-17, and even with their age clearly indicated, middle aged men will still attempt to prey on these underaged teenagers. Luckily I’m a male, but I would recommend to females of any age that they stay anonymous as possible as they are in more danger of encountering weirdos. 2. The chat system is abused and practically useless for telling how appealing someone is. Most of the people that randomly chat you are almost guaranteed to rate you unfairly if you reject them in anyway. I feel like you should have to leave a public comment with your rating of someone so you can see the main reasons why someone is rated badly. For example, maybe they’re a bot or maybe they get DMed by a lot of weirdos who can’t take rejection - probably the most common case for females. 3. The report system is unfair. Sometimes posts are removed simply because what I like to call a “soy boy” didn’t like what you said. Posts shouldn’t be removed for everyone to see just because someone is being a pissy baby over a disagreement. 4. Sometimes posts just disappear for no clear reason. It’s a very frequently annoying occurrence that makes no sense. 5. The popular posts are artificially inflated to the top. No seriously. Whisper literally gives hundreds to thousands of fake hearts to seemingly random posts, bringing them to the popular page where they only then gather attention. I don’t know if it’s actually random or some sort of staff pick, but it seems very biased. It is possible to briefly get on the popular page if you actually make a popular page but I just don’t see why they do this. It’s biased and ingenuine. Anyways, it’s a fun app but I had to highlight the main issues that ruin the experience.
