Wherigo™ cartridges are GPS-enabled adventures in the real world. Use GPS technology to guide you to physical locations and interact with virtual objects and characters.
Download cartridges for free from the official Wherigo™ web site right from the app and play at your leisure. Note that cartridges are retained for as long as you need them and do not expire. Time estimates given on the web site and in the cartridge description are for expected playing time.
Notes:
1) With newer devices, you can download cartridges with your computer and drag and drop to the Wherigo app folder in iTunes.
2) You can also drag and drop .gws files to upload with your browser if you have trouble uploading from the app.
3) Be sure to select "PocketPC" as the device when downloading cartridges for best results, although any device should work.

Cannot get app to authorize

I be used this app before with fairly decent results, but I just tried to download some cartridges, and I cannot get the app to authorize with Groundspeak. I click agree, and it just keeps coming back as Groundspeak API error.
Crashes on opening.

I tried reinstalling the app three times but it still crashes. It looks like the last update was 3 + years ago. I think the developer needs to update this app.

I can’t download cartridges because it won’t authorize my phone. Very frustrating

You can download cartridges from the app, though it basically takes you to the website where you have to search for it and download. Would be nice if there was a download button on the app search screen. I tried downloading a couple and got 0% even after waiting a couple minutes. I changed to Pocket PC, Garmin Nuvi, Colorado, and Oregon, several times with no download. Then changed back to Pocket PC and it downloaded instantly. Second attempt was the same, after 7-10 attempts trying all different types it finally downloaded. Third attempt it downloaded on the first try, though with Garmin Nuvi. Hope it works anyway.
Issues with iOS 12

Some cartridges are no longer working under iOS 12. Does Groundspeak ever plan to update this app, which is over 2 years old, or will they let another developer create and maintain a usable Wherigo app? There are still plenty of players and new cartridges being produced, and Android users can enjoy them all.
Authorization Error

Issue with Geocaching API, can’t authorize access to geocaching account to download cartridges, making this a useless app currently. Tried re-downloading app, didn’t change anything

Not at all intuitive. Has not had an update for 3 years. "Groundspeak API error" "Not authorized" "Error talking to GC" That said, I did eventually manage to download a cartridge after about 15 minutes of trial and error and being pushed out to a browser to sign in again, a couple of times. For being able to eventually download my chosen cartridge: 2 stars. I've not yet tried to play... watch this space for rating changes accordingly.
