Overall the app is good but needs to be updated more often. It is Sunday morning and the headline is Supreme Court announces Ginsburg’s death”. She died on Friday. The weather headline calls for a wetter Saturday - not much help today.

Too many times WESH will notify of breaking news. The headline will be about a recent event but the article will be 5 days old. News in the app should be updated more often. You have to check the date to see if you are reading about current events or something written a week ago.

Earthquake in Alaska

Idiots. Your 5:30 news today said an earthquake hit Alaska. You jerks showed map of Alaska on screen but it said “Alabama”. What a second rate show. Did anyone their graduate high school? No one proof reads what u put on screen? I’m done watching this lousy channel.

I want to read the news without constant commercials. I don’t want a live news video, unless I request a live news report. When I click on a story, a commercial pops up all of the time, then live news comes on. I just want to read the news.

I don’t mind a 10 second or even 15 second intro commercial but 30 seconds is way too long. I wind up exiting the app before I even read the story. Too bad.

I love WESH and all of the professional staff who bring us the news every day. The only downside is the app on the weekends. The news is not updated and the weather stays on the same day through most weekends. The app is not reliable on weekends. I have to look elsewhere for news and weather.
Very mediocre app - only good for headline alerts

Overall good news station, but you’re better off just using their website. Only reason I have this app installed is for local alerts and even those are buggy, never actually loading when I open them in the app.
Too many intrusive ads

I installed this app over a year ago. I turned notifications on after the Coronavirus pandemic was in full force. However, when I click on a notification the first thing to open is an ad or promotion video. There are so many intrusive ads in the app that it makes it annoying and a waste of time to attempt to read the news report or watch a video. I decided to delete the app. I’ll try using their website to see if it is more useful.
