The app itself is a decent app. My problem is with the integrity of the underlying system. I liked the idea of part of the functionality of the app being tied to the serial number of your grill or grills. However, that only works if the system recognizes your serial number. I tried to register my grill three times through the app, each time receiving a message stating “invalid serial number”. I called Weber customer service. The rep tried to register the grill and had the same problem. The solution: “This happens sometimes. I suggest you keep your receipt in case you have any issues with the grill.” I asked if the problem would be fixed and should I try to register on a month or two. The answer: “No.” What is the point of setting up a system that only works for some products some of the time? Strange and unnecessary.

Open the app, register my device, looking for tutorials for assembly. Can’t find them. Already regretting buying this monstrosity of a grill.

Got this to get “3D help” with grill assembly as promised. Not in the app. Just a ploy to get your information for marketing purposes and advertise accessories.
Make sure you opt out of emails

The app has some good information, but make sure you opt out of the email notifications. It is like there is a TOTAL disconnect between the app and the email team. I continually get emails reminding me to download the app and register my grill, both of which I have already done. To make matters worse, the emails refer to information that is supposed to be on the app, but is nowhere to be found, which is a shame because some of it sounds interesting, but of course the email does not link to the article. The only reason I can imagine they would not link the article in the email is they are trying to make sure you install the app. That kind of bull s%^% make me wonder why? Maybe I need to uninstall the app. Update- reduced to one star. After submitting my concerns I got a canned response that did not address my concerns and requested I fill out all the information they already have from my grill warranty. I will be deleting the app. I also will be reconsidering buying any Weber branded accessories.

This app has it all! If you have any questions or need anything it is all housed in one place! I use it all the time for recipes, how to videos and double checking that I am doing things right. I love this app and the set up.

I have been using Weber charcoal grills for the last 25 years because they are solid performers. The app just adds to the appeal with recipes for all tastes. The detailed descriptions makes grilling meats, chicken, fish, pork, and vegetables a cinch. No over or undercooked food anymore. The one shortcoming is the assembly instructions. I have assembled five charcoal grills over the years—the last two the premium version with the ash catcher. The confusing illustrated step by step guide, with no text, just doesn’t cut it nor does the brief video. I had to go to YouTube to find a good video with a person assembling his new Weber step by step. All is good now with the grill set up and the ribeye thawing. Looking forward to putting the Weber to work tomorrow.
