Watchcast is a new Podcast app designed to take full advantage of the Apple Watch.
- Watchcast lets you transfer podcasts to your watch so you can listen without your phone.

TIPS
- Transfers of large files can take several minutes over bluetooth, be patient and plan ahead! I highly recommend using the feature that automatically transfers new episodes to the watch.
- To speed up transfer, make sure to wake the app on your watch a few times.
- The watch face complication is currently available in the smallest sizes. It shows the number of podcasts stored on your watch.

- The app is free to download with all features unlocked. To subscribe to more than two different shows, you will need to complete an in-app purchase. This purchase is good for the life of the app, including all future fixes and improvements.
- I am an avid runner and podcast listener, and as a heavy user of my own app I promise that bugs will be fixed quickly and new features will be added over time.

This app is very close to being perfect. It's great to finally have an app that allows for storage and playback of podcasts without the need to transport your iPhone as well. However, adding a few tweaks would make this perfect. Variable playback speed, tweaking the UI to be less plain, and trimming silences like other podcast apps would make this my one and only podcast player. It's fantastic for a free app, and I plan on being a paying customer once it becomes a little more feature rich.

The ONLY podcast player that lets you sync podcasts locally to the Apple Watch and then leave your phone behind when you go for runs and walks (and then syncs your playback process back to your phone). This fills a huge gap that Apple and other app developers have yet to fill). Plus, this app developer is super responsive. This has the potential to replace my other podcast app (as a podcast junky) as soon as some simple playlist controls and support for podcast requiring authentication is added.
Bring back the large skip

I'm very upset that the volume slider replaced the awesome play bar that you could skip in large increments with. The volume can be changed with the Digital Crown, large skips cannot. Move the volume feature back out! Best podcast app I've used so far. I'll keep looking.
Promising and improving

Promising app. The developer continues to put in work and improve it. The max volume is just barely enough to be able to hear most podcasts on my AirPods. Key improvement would be to find a way to bump that up so that I can hear over the noise of being out exercising in the world. I generally listen to podcasts on 2x speed which this app doesn't yet offer. I can't wait until it does someday. The promise of being able to leave my phone behind to work out is tremendous and I hope this app helps me get there.

Update to previous review below: successful transfer of podcasts to the watch. Still probably a 50% success rate and could be a lot better...no progress bar, doesn't work every time, not sure how long transfers take. But gets a 4 star as this is literally the ONLY app I know of that allows transfer of podcast to the watch. Previous versions suggest no issues, so will change this review if the issue is fixed...but currently this app does not work to transfer to watch, making it useless for me. Tried multiple times, including plugged in and fully charged...just get a continuous loading circle and transfer never happens.

Works just fine for syncing podcasts from my iPhone to my Apple Watch. Probably the only app that can do this right now, just wish the podcast search and episode preview worked better. I can never read a full episode description because the app cuts it off.

This app is made to transfer podcasts to an Apple Watch, but it totally fails at this one task. I have tried multiple podcasts multiple times and never successfully transferred a podcast to my watch.

I love the app when it works. For some reason, podcast no longer transfer to my watch. Using a Series 3 LTE.
No backwards compatibility

Latest update removed the app from my watch (running OS 3). I guess no backwards compatibility? This makes the app worthless to me.
