Good concept

GANAGAN

At this point it’s not possible to give more than 2-stars. The app initializes fine, quickly finds and connects to podcasts -but that’s where it ends ....at least with the cast I was syncing. It got to 65% and died. Closed both apps and restarted but this time around it didn’t even start. Clearly this is something that is more related to Apple and given that this is a solid attempt to solve an issue left open by them I would welcome a fix. This has the potential to be a 5-star app if it only worked consistently.

Piece of garbage

This is an embarrassment. Podcasts rarely transfer. No progress bar. What a waste. You should be ashamed to push this to the app store.

Not working...again.

Update 1/3/2018: Haven’t had much success lately getting a successful transfer of a podcast to my watch. It used to work and I would use it almost every day at the gym. Maybe because I updated my phone to iOS 11.2.1? Looks like the app hasn’t been updated in 3 months. It’s a shame I have to keep the inferior WatchPlayer app on my phone and watch as a backup. 2 stars because it used to work. Please fix! Update 10/18: I’ve been using WatchCast regularly to go on runs without my iPhone. Connects via Bluetooth headphones, however, will not play out of the Apple Watch speaker. Pretty good interface with raise to wake lock screen, much better than the app “WatchPlayer”. I would prefer volume control over play speed, would also be nice to set your skip forward/back times. It’s also worth noting that I HAVE been able to transfer podcast over an hour long but it does take quite some time. Not the devs fault, I know Apple Watch controls the transfer speed. All in all, 4.5 out of 5 stars so I’m rounding up. Update 10/4: I was finally able to get a short (28-minute) podcast to transfer to my Apple Watch. Although there is no progress bar on the iPhone app, there is a percentage indicator on the Apple Watch app which is helpful. The transfer did take quite a while. Once complete, I went on a run with just my watch and listened to said podcast using Bluetooth headphones and it worked well. The watch interface is superior to the WatchPlayer app by far. I would give this app 5 stars with a couple improvements and am still considering upgrading to premium if I can get it to transfer a longer hour + episode. Update to previous review: After updating my iPhone to iOS 11 and my Apple Watch to watchOS 4, I was finally able to install the WatchPlayer app onto my watch. Now I can’t get an episode to actually transfer to the watch. I just get the spinning wheel forever. A progress bar would be helpful, as other reviewers have stated. I will try again with a shorter 1/2 hour podcast tomorrow. Still no email back from the dev. I want to like this app and would be willing to pay for premium if it actually worked... OLD REVIEW: Can't figure out how to install this on my Apple Watch... does not show up under list of installable apps under "My Watch" in the Apple Watch app. I've emailed the dev via app support. Will update my review when I find a solution to this problem and can actually use the app on my watch.

App does not show up on watch.

I cannot install the app on my watch.

Miserable experience

BUTTSEXT

I paid for the app thinking that being able to subscribe would solve the downloading issues I was having...that was a mistake. This app is a frustrating experience to say the least.
