Very buggy

Coolawesomeneat

I deleted the app because I continue to get the error message on my iPad that says: Vocab.com needs to be updated. I’m given the option to keep or delete. I click “Delete” and still get the error message. Doesn’t matter which option I choose. Frustrating, at the least.

The one app I use everyday

QCQUAD

I love this app and have used it now for 7 years. My vocabulary has improved tremendously. I love words and using this app is enjoyable. There are article links for how a word is used in context within a current publication. These reference links have exposed me to new and interesting topics ( many that I wouldn’t have been exposed to naturally) some are current events, other historical, science, pop culture etc… You get so much more than vocabulary definitions. You also get an education too ( if you take the time to explore publication links) and it keeps you in touch with what’s relevant “today.” As a longtime app user, I can express myself articulately and my awareness of the world around me has expanded.

Annoying Bug

I deleted this app a while ago and whenever I try downloading another app, Vocab.com starts downloading and it says something like “the developer of vocab.com needs to update to work with IOS XX” It gives me the option to keep or delete. It doesn’t matter which one I press since the pop up keeps happening.

I’ve used Vocab.com for years, and the app daily! It always challenges me and satiates my vocabulary curiosity!

hey i really love that there’s an app version now! however, i just wish that there would be arrows and the same design from the online website version on the app. without the arrows, i have to constantly tap blank space to continue and it just doesn’t look as aesthetically pleasing as online. again, from the website, the same variety of colors, the visible icons, same screens for the app, would all be wonderful! it is functional, just all in all could be improved much more.

Amazing concept, needs minor improvements

I like the website and the concept of Vocab.com, however, I am also using DuoLingo in parallel, and it reveals areas of improvement for this app. I encourage the developers and researchers to implement a better designed gamification system. There is also no longitudinal way to determine if one has mastered a word. The developers should embed a UI that allows the user to write and practice creating sentences or speaking.

For non English speakers

Val??

The app would seem to be very effective for learning but the actual vocabulary is too simplistic, probably designed for non English speakers learning very basic vocabulary. I persevered in using it every day for a month in hopes that it would become more challenging but it seemed to get even easier and just became time consuming with little benefit.

Syncing

The app on iOS doesn’t sync with my computer's progression. It says I completed the assignment on my phone, but when I look on the computer it says I haven’t started.
