So slow it's almost useless

jasondunn

The app looks pretty good, but the time is takes to adjust the thermostat or arm the alarm is ridiculous. I can walk down my stairs and manually change my thermostat faster than this app can change it. Such shoddy tech they use.

Maybe a change coming

This never works

Bugs

1. The activity section doesn't always refresh/update to show real-time activity. 2. False notifications of an open door. I don't know how many times I've gone to arm my alarm and it says the front door (which I've just locked) is still open. I check the sensor and battery, and everything seems fine. 3. Occasionally logging in is troublesome. Hangs for a long time; have to restart the app and try again.

Trashy company

Jasmine Fuselier

I hate the company and it's a piece of trash nothing works correctly and they don't stand behind their product. We can't get them to come fix their trashy equipment. When we first bought into this junk, it was awesome but after a year, they forgot about us and this junk in my home, if you want a alarm system that will truly protect your home and family, STAY AWAY FROM VIVINT. Do your homework, we didn't and now are stuck.

Customer service

bdsproject

Quit communicating and customer service was unable to fix it. Very disappointing.

App doesn’t work

JbirdAg96

Ever since I got a new phone this app no longer works. Every time that I try to enter my login information I’m told that my account is locked and I have to call customer service. I contacted customer service and they helped with the password issue, but it only works for their website. I am still unable to log into the app as it continues to tell me that my account is locked.

Worthless!!!

Appleberry4

Nothing but problems and long wait times to try to resolve non working devices and alarms that go off when they are not supposed to. As a result the police said they would no longer support us! Save yourself the money and get yourself a German Shepherd!!!

App Doesn’t Work

EPCO Slave

For some reason within the last month, the app just doesn’t do anything. I can’t arm/disarm, unlock a door or change the thermostat.

Vivint: Bring back basic features!!

TheBookVixen

If you're thinking about getting Vivint, keep looking. There are other alarm monitoring companies out there that have more robust features for the same price as account or less. This used to be a great app until they removed much-needed features. Used to get notifications the moment a sensor (window or door) was opened. As a parent of young children, this was extremely helpful in keeping my children safe. For example, if a child opened a window or a door, I would be notified the moment it happened and could address the situation. But Vivint has removed this feature from the app and now you can only get a notification if and when a sensor has been opened for at least one full minute. Also used to be able to see on the home screen of the app which sensors were currently open. That is no longer the case. This app hasn't been updated in OVER A YEAR. Vivint is neglecting their loyal customers, who have been around long enough to still have the GO! control panel and penalizing them for not upgrading to their more expensive smart home panel. If you look at Vivint's Smart Home app, you'll see that it was updated as recently as one week ago. Unless Vivint brings back these features by the time my contract is up, I will leave and go with another alarm monitoring company that has more robust features.

Looks pretty

shootdraxxus

That's about it. Takes so long to activate/deactivate that I'll have to go to the panel anyway. Really useless. UPDATED: The app seems to be way more responsive now. It works within a a few seconds to change the arming status of the panel. UPDATED AGAIN: Two days after I wrote this review, the app started acting up again. So slow to get the commands, I end up having to use the panel anyway. I should’ve gotten a fob. Can’t wait to get rid of Vivint.
