I prefer this app over the others that I've tried in the past, velvet sends you one new profile to view per day, which makes each opportunity much more cherish able. Rather than being a pass-time kind of dating app, velvet takes on a much more personable approach, giving its user more time to read each person's bio more thoroughly. In this day and age of speed-dating, we are able to see more people's faces, at the cost of not knowing the value of what's beneath. *looked through the app again to find something constructive, not at this time. Bravo, ladies behind the curtains. Know any good match places in the city?

Great app with a new take on dating

I've been on velvet for about two months now. It takes a bit of getting used to because you have to be patient and cannot endlessly browse other profiles. Thus far I have been pleasantly surprised by the quality of the other users. I have yet to find exactly what I'm looking for but I feel confident that I will soon enough. I would give 5 stars but it seems like velvet ignores my age preferences quite a bit.

I tried online dating for the first time a little over a year ago and I hated it every step of the way. Nothing worked and I never met anyone worth while. But then about 6 months ago I saw an advertisement for velvet and downloaded it on a whim, not expecting much. After a couple of weeks on the app I met an amazing guy, we went on a date, and now we are totally in love with each other! I love that this app shows you people that you have mutual friends with on Facebook and I love that the chat rooms are set up in such a way that encourages you to actually meet people in person. I would recommend velvet to anyone!
