Unlock! is a board game based on the escape rooms model.
Search the rooms, find hidden objects, combine them, solve riddles, avoid traps ... and exit before the end of the countdown!
The Unlock! application is a free “companion app”: you must use the Unlock! board game to enjoy it. This application will allow you to get valuable clues and enter secret codes you deciphered.
It will also contribute to the atmosphere around the table with its music tailored to each adventure, awful penalties ... and fatal countdown!
At the end of the game, it will give you your score calculated on the time you spent to complete the adventure, the number of penalties you collected, the number of clues you requested, etc.

Playing my first game tomorrow, just did the tutorial. And know why it lost two stars already? Because my iPad is on a stand. And that stand lets it sit on my table. In landscape mode only. And this app only works in portrait mode. Seriously? You can not put an iPad on a stand in portrait mode. Very annoying. Anyway, I’m hoping the games are fun. But this is needlessly frustrating.

Really great in the beginning and middle but at the end, if you try the smoke signals they don’t do anything to lead you to cards S or G. Needs fixing.

My family loves this game. There are some major hiccups in most of the adventures where we get confused how something is supposed to work. This can really hurt the experience, especially combined with how many completely useless hints there are. For example, we notice how the shapes on this card match up with another card. We know that if we connect those shapes it should make a code but don’t know how we get from the 4 shapes to 4 numbers. Hint: “if you match the shapes they will relate to numbers”. Uh yea, we know. But we just don’t know how! Most of the hints are either obvious like this or on the other end of the spectrum where it just tells you the answer. No middle-ground. But despite this, there is nothing else which offers this kind of experience at this level of quality and that keeps us coming back!

For some reason, sound doesn’t play on iOS version. This makes some puzzles unsolvable. The Android app works better.
Sound Not Working

We just played through Nautilus and one of the “machine” cards had us go into the app for a sound based clue/puzzle, except the sound didn’t work AT ALL. We could NOT figure out that clue and had to ask for the solution to it because there was absolutely no way to figure it out. This was a huge bummer. It took us forever to get through the puzzles and we still can’t figure out how some of the answers worked, but overall it was fun.

I’ve played around 8 unlock games with my girlfriend, and they are all quite enjoyable. Mission #07 in the Epic Adventures pack was by far the most cool. Sound in the app is not working and needs to be fixed. It was confusing the first time we ran into the issue, and now it’s just annoying as we have to use hints/solutions for the sound related puzzles.
iPad Version Does NOT Work for Some Decks
Annoyed, but hopeful
"The Seventh Screening" cannot be played on an iPad. It REQUIRES the iPhone version of the app. We wasted 30 minutes and got angry with each other because of the frustration this caused. ???
