I love this app. It's so useful for transferring money and checking my balance on the go.
Do you really just release an update for this app after months of the iPhone 5 being out and not add the iPhone 5 native resolution? Seriously?
No iPhone 5 support with the last release - seriously?!? Mobile check deposit is huge and long overdue - definitely the anchor for this review. My only outstanding request is for the reoccurring transfer management the web site has. For example, scheduling and editing regular savings deposits or transfers into other accounts.
Unitus is a great credit union and I am wonderfully happy with their services. The mobile snapshot deposit feature is a bit buggy. If there are any errors, they are not intuitive. Any time a picture is taken it wipes out the selected account and amount data. I am not sure why I am unable to proceed with my deposit. An explanation of error would be excellent.
It's great that Unitus added the SnapCheck feature, but the implementation is awful: most shots of checks are rejected. Some of the issues are: App asks you to confirm clarity and exposure of image, but won't let you zoom in; can't use camera flash; rejects checks that are wide relative to height; automatically crops images without a manual cropping option, and rejects images that are not properly cropped to the edge of the check. Very frustrating. Yuck.
SnapCheck doesn't work well. Requires multiple pics to get one that works. Maybe the watermark on checks hurts, cuz corp checks are tougher than personal checks
Checking activity, scheduling transfers, etc work as they should, but are no great improvement over the website. Mobile deposit is a great idea, and many other banks have it working smoothly. The mobile deposit feature frequently crashes the app.(ipad 3, ios6.1) When it doesn't, the image processing in the app degrades the photo taken to such an extent that more than half the checks I submit are rejected. I take a clear, crisp picture and by the time the app is done with it it looks like a multiple generation xerox that's been sent through a malfunctioning fax. The app also cannot deal with checks which have been folded (as when fit into a wallet) and then laid out and smoothed before attempting deposit. Because a bit of ripple remains from the folds, those are rejected for being "warped" I'd really like this to work, but at this point, mobile deposit is actually more obnoxious and time wasting than driving to a branch and waiting in line.
App does not work snap shot unusable I will be using a different bank or Credit union They can't seem to get their act together on this app. Should be able just seed iPhone picture. Poor Service, guess they like wasting money and time.
I have been a Unitus (aka Oregon Telco) customer since the late 90’s, and this app is great like all things Unitus, EXCEPT the SnapCheck feature is maddening. You can try and try and try to get a good photo but it is extremely picky. Sometimes it won’t work at all so I have to go into the branch and make the deposit, which defeats the whole purpose.
