Ver 2.10 - backup data before updating!!!

Sengoku_us

19th August 2019 - in response to developer: Thanks, can confirm all is working now. To avoid any scares in the future, would it be possible to implement an option to export all of the “my designs” to a directory on the Files app (either directly on the iPad or in iCloud) as a backup measure in case of possible future server issues. 19th August 2019 Update: I was able to get all my designs back, by some drastic measures. First I checked my last iCloud backup (which was 2 days ok - good, the updated app and it’s settings were not backed up), then I erased my iPad (make sure you don’t backup) Then I set up as new and restored from iCloud). Lastly I left the iPad overnight to download all it’s apps and data. And voila! The uMake app was back to version 2.9 and all my designs were there. I checked my account details and sure enough the email I was trying to log back in previously with was there. So I wasn’t sure why it was saying that it didn’t exist when I tried logging back in under version 2.10 So for now I’m going to stay away from version 2.10 and manually backup/export all my designs as .umk files (most of my designs are already backed up in the iCloud files app in the .umk format, but not all). 18th August 2019 - initial review: Just a warning for others before they update. I updated and all of my designs were lost. It seems the app and all its data was erased during this update. Upon launching the app, I discovered it had logged me out. And the “My Designs” section is empty - so all my work was gone. I tried to log back in under the “Account” tab using my credentials from before (I had created a profile earlier, including an email address, to sync my designs with uMake servers), but the application was not accepting my login information. I tried using the “i forgot my password”, but it said my email was not valid. Not sure if this is an error on my part or uMake’s. So basically any designs I had not backed up independently from this app were lost.

Bug

Gavin Sebastian Ypiña

I can’t draw anything and I’m using the iPad Air 1 2013 but it doesn’t work so fix that bug please so I can use it for my future car company. Ypiña

I guess uMake doesn’t want users like me.

@davessuccess

I used to come on here on uMake and practice sketching. So I could learn how to use it. Now that there isn’t any free version I’d have to pay to learn. I’m an artist and having easy access to 3D models is really useful. The 14 day trial wouldn’t be enough time for me to learn and so without paying $60 looks like I won’t really have a chance to use this great tool. Thanks uMake for the time that it was free to use.

Not intuitive and doesn’t work half the time

Mlc48807

In just trying to make a 30 cm x 22 cm x 7 cm box I had to go to the forums (no help), watch YouTube, and spend 1 hour trying to make it happen. I finally figured out how to see measurements but half the time they wouldn’t show up. And nothing ever happens the way you want it to happen. I couldn’t even figure out how to draw a line from corner to corner that was a straight edge. I even used the in app tutorials.

WHY

??????

Cant use on my iPhone 7

Was good before they got greedy

App now requires a paid subscription.....would have been willing to pay a one time fee but as a casual user no way I’m paying every month, deleted the app already

Still Evaluating

New to this app. Still learning the basics and finding that the learning curve is a little higher on this than I have experienced with other like apps. Still, was happy to find this and sure I will get it after more use. 4 stars for now.

Can’t figure out how to work it

Catowtf@&$

Will probably give a better review if I can figure out how to work this program.

I spend a significant amount of time discussing aerodynamics/fluid dynamics. One of my passions is concept and design. This program allows me to take my ideas and turn them into concept drawings. I want to partner with umake. This is a brilliant app!

I use it all the time

I tested all of the 3D modeling apps for iPad (except for Shapr 3D because I don't have an Apple Pencil) and uMake is the one that I stuck with. Previously, I had learned some 3D modeling in SketchUp. I had to learn some different ways of thinking about things, and there are some limitations, but I wanted to do my designing on my iPad so bad that I figured out how to make what I wanted to make. Now I am exporting my designs to use in other ways and it's very cool.
