There is no single predefined way to play - everything is entirely up to you. You chose what you want to be and how you want to play. You can be a peaceful merchant, shuttling goods between stars. You can be an outlaw, attacking innocent ships and capturing their cargo. You can be a smuggler, trading in illegal goods banned by the the Intergalactic Federation. You can even run missions, both legal and illegal.

There is so much to the game. Not only can you upgrade your ships weapons, but you can also upgrade equipment, such as adding more powerful engines or faster regenerating shields. You can even trade your ship in and fly something else entirely, whether a captured pirate ship or a large, bulky cargo carrier.

* Be good or evil: peaceful trader, indepenent bounty hunter, or a pirate outlaw - the choice is completely yours.
* Over 1,000 stars in an entirely open-ended universe to explore.
* 8 different ships to pilot.
* Unique goods trading system, with realistic demand and supply price calculations.
* Ability to hire teammates for help, with teammate formations provided.
* Fully upgradeable weapons systems.
* Upgradable ship equipment systems - engines, shields, and much more.
* Three difficulty levels.
* Local and global high scores.
* Saveable at any point in time.
* Intense, driving music and awesome sound effects.

Lots of Potential
alanRN

Game has a great general idea, but could be refined like most say. Clearer goals to avoid repetitiveness, logical trading, etc. How do you remove a wingman? They are more trouble than they are worth for me, unless you just want to be the bad guy.

Missions
WeAreTheBorg

The game needs an easier way to play missions. As it is now, you can accept any mission and not really have any indication of what to do next. Also, the font is absolutely terrible. Very difficult to read, even on my iPhone 4. This is version 1.0; I can see a lot of improvements in this game through future updates.

Kool But....
WidowMakers

1.Needs an alliance sector were u can join an alliance and fight for it, there could be missions for paticular alliances and then there are like alliance ranks were u can become a comander of the entire fleet then there could be BIG fleet battles with rival alliances! 2.An inspace mission log. take this into consideration AND DO IT! All who agree smile! Ty :)

Nerdnic's UV Dawn Review
Nerdnic

I was one of the lucky people to get UV Dawn for free at launch. But, like many others who scooped up the free game, I was very disappointed at the balance and overall organization and chose to shelf the game until updates fixed the balance issues. I was thrilled to see an update come out last night (Aug 3rd) that addressed these issues. The updated helped a lot, missions are now clearer, and I was able to successfully complete a few of them in a matter of minutes. I still feel that the police are ticked off too easily, but that might be because Iā€™m not able to recognize them just yet to know when to hold my fire. Thanks for the update, Devs! And keep up the good work! This game has huge potential and I hope it will turn into a more in depth 'space miner' type game.

Better
Stuff rater

After the update the game is even better. But now the big issue is how to get out of wanted mode. Every time I start a mission everyone attack me. Either I manage to kill everyone. And I mean everyone, military, police l, pirates, independent or successfully flee I might have a chance. It's just that I see another red radar when just barely escaped with very low health. Please fix, or inform me how to do it.

Really good but... (v1.1)
h67driver

It's really awsome but could be better like make multiplayer then I'll rate 10 stars :) and why need police when they don't help?! So please make the police help when pirates attack me it would be a lot better with those two things please do that :D

One of the Best Games I've played on my iPod Touch
The iGamer

This game is fantastic. At first it takes a little while to get used to the flow of the gameplay but once you do it very addictive. Pros: Deep and addictive Gameplay Detailed Ships and background Very High replay value Low Price Rank System Cons: Easy to accidently hit police and bystanders when battling pirates Somewhat steep learning curve when it comes to missions Only Eight ships to choose from Can only own one ship at a time Music is mediocre

More ships
200053459

There needs to be more options for ships and you need to be able to own more than one also being able to save more than one game would be nice.
