Why does it cost money to turn my tv off?

I thought it would be good at first seeing you could turn down the volume,and turn of your tv.I don’t want to pay money just because I lost my remote doesn’t mean I’m going to pay 19.99 to turn my tv off.I wouldn’t recommend this unless certain buttons don’t work on your remote,the reason I downloaded this was to switch the channel to play on my wii and enjoy exercising while having fun.

The fact that ads pop up is ridiculous, you have already PAID for the device now if you want to use your phone as the remote you have to go thru ads. THEN sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. Apple never did that to their customers who had Apple TV. I’ve tried many devices to see which fits my needs.

Basically just turn the channel. Wifi only. You have to pay for no ads every 3 clicks for everything. It works just wish I had volume up & down for free.

If I had my remote and didn’t lose it why would I pay for this app in the first place? As soon as I paid and paired it with my tv The app says I have to hit allow with my remote ummmm really? The smarter thing would be for the app to send a code to the tv that you input into the app for permission. This was a waste of money!
