A good app gone bad

Too much advertising. Some channels don't display programming. Some favorite channels don't appear. Each release is worse than the previous one. Used to be a good app.
What's the deal with empty listings?

I usually like TVGuide, my parents even had a subscription. It was always the first place I'd look for listings. But lately, on the app, whole channels have been empty. I'm talking ABC, NBC, & CBS, AMC, etc. major networks! I'm guessing it's the whole company because I went to their full site and it was the same thing. I give it 3 stars because if I don't need to know the blank channel, then it works fine.

I wanted to see if the current episode of a certain TV show was the same as the one from last week. So I tried to use the date and time picker. No matter what date I pick (even yesterday) it goes back to the current day. That is lousy programming. I have seen a lot of amateurs do a better job. Sometimes the listing is wrong. At least this app is pretty good overall.

On the rare occasion the listings are totally incorrect but rarely. Channel eight (8) broadcast channel is absolutely incorrect 100% of the time. I don't like the personal digs that are made in the program descriptions, that should be left up to the viewer. Most comments appear to be from a individual that is looking for a gold star as an inexperienced budding movie critic with no forethought before speaking or writing. Those are my comments and please don't let them lead you to believe that I don't like TV Guide. It is an icon in the eye of most viewers and myself. Thank you for your service. I hope that one day TV Guide will be an App available for computers other than just portable devices. 9/15/16 update; app performance is getting worse and not better, I believe that the recent influx of advertising has messed up the app. Many unlisted time slots and wrong listings. I am currently looking for a better app, there are many four (4) and (5) star apps out there, ...which TV Guide is NOT!

Now it wants u to sign in to do anything. But it wont let me set up an account. It rejects all screen names. I finally just deleted it. Zero stars would be more appropriate for what used to be a 5 star app

I love this app, I have had a lot of TV listing apps and this one is the best. I wish I had gotten it along time ago, so good. Easy to store your favorite shows, easy to look at the guide each night, and lots of extra features that are really fun. I've also had a problem with other apps crashing all the time, to the point where they were unusable. With this app though I have had no problems it has worked flawlessly and I'm very pleased with it, highly recommend.
