Not really a compass unless moving

I was hoping to find a compass that would work like a standard magnetic compass. This app needs you to be moving (Like in a car). Not useful for finding your way on a hike. The customer service guy got back to me right away when I emailed him about this. (I thought I wasn't working it correctly) He told me that it only works if you are moving in a vehicle. It does find the nearest intersection and gives you your location in longitude and latitude if that's what you need.
