My favorite

Great app. Very useful, easy to use. I love the clean interface. And I haven’t encountered any bugs in the three months or so since I’ve been using it. Very dependable app. My only criticism is how sub tasks are handled. I find it awkward adding them to preexisting tasks.

Overall a great app but I do have some suggestions

porschephile986

By far the best to do list app I have found, and I've tried many. Been using the app daily for over 1.5 years and love it. Some useful features would be: -a trash bin for deleted items -a way to change the notification sound to something other than the default iOS alert -"start date" functionality that allows a task show up under "today" and automatically "float" to the next day until the due date occurs. Only after the due date has passed should the task become "overdue" -ability to add filter shortcuts under the inbox/today/next 7 days shortcuts -ability to set projects to sort the list automatically by your choice of date or priority -another one or two levels of priorities... 4 levels is not enough to really help you drill down on a long list of tasks

Excellence!

The interface is clean and intuitive. It doesn't force you to use features you don't need. It's easy to move and edit items. I've tried them all, including Omnifocus, which costs way too much and is overly complex. Nothing else is this smooth... and smooth is what makes it effective, because that's what encourages consistency of use.

Poor

MattPackwood

Poor design choices that reduce functionality and distract from important features.

No notifications

BMWRacer12

I no longer get notifications on my lock screen. No more emails and no txt messages. My premium account is paid up till next year but it like the premium features are turned off.

To small of text

omnizen

Seems great despite high $$& for subscription as other apps have same feature set for one time payment. The deal breaker aside from price is the tasks are too small to view. Team should increase size of text.

Most basic tools require buying the upgrade

MarianneRDavis

This seemed like a great idea and a simple design to easily enter daily/weekly tasks. Just about every option required the user to buy the premium upgrade. Even setting a basic reminder for a task has to be paid for!

Simple yet deep

I have used a myriad of other task and project management solutions. Todoist is by far one of the easiest solutions I have used. Yet it still remains deep with great filters and tagging. It may not replace a full project management solution but it certainly comes close. If you are an executive and manage teams this solution is perfect. Heck it will work for nearly anyone out there.

Good enough. A few suggestions for improvement.

I've been using Todoist (Premium) on my iPhone 5C and my MacBook Pro for about a month and find it to be pretty good. I find it particularly useful that you can add links and notes to tasks, and color-code their priority level. There are some minor changes I would really like to see, however, if possible: (1) A compact-view option. The regular view has too much white space between tasks; it's too spread out. I find it hard to get an overall sense of my list when I can only see about 8 tasks at a time. (2) Similarly, the "+ Add Task" line (and whole empty line below it) under every project takes up WAY too much screen space. It is also distracting. There must be a space-saving way to hide it but still keep its function, and reclaim that space for actual tasks? I would appreciate that change. (3) Setting reminders shouldn't require having to manually retype a date a time. I suggest imitating Apple's Calendar app, where it prompts you with common-sense options like "at time of event" or "2 hours before" as a drop-down, clickable set of options. Thank you in advance for any work in these areas! And thanks for reading.
