Stops working when you actually need it

sbr517

I’ve been a fan of tile for over 2 years with the original tile (now called Tile Mate) but this year decided to upgrade to the Pro series for the “better range” and “louder sound.” Both tiles work perfectly when I am testing them, even with the phone across the room, as long as I already know where it is. But now whenever I actually need them to work, to, you know, actually find my phone, I always get the sad beeps that mean my phone is supposedly out of range, when I know it isn’t. Tonight I lost my phone inside my car, and both my tiles couldn’t find it when pressing the logo button, when the phone was actually RIGHT there next to me. When I finally found my phone using Find My iPhone on my computer, I checked that the app was open and Bluetooth was on, still sad beeps. Of course now that I tested finding the tiles with my phone FIRSt, they are able to find my phone. But I need them to work the opposite way much more often and they keep letting me down. Big fat waste of money, save your money and use a better tracker.

Two issues = down 2 stars

1. I have had to turn off the Bluetooth feature unless I am actually looking for a tile, because having it on all the time causes my AirPods to stop working on phone calls. This is a well-documented issue, and remains so with the 2.25 release I am running now. 2. There appears to be no way to turn off the feature where pressing a Tile button rings the phone. I don’t need that feature, because I have an Apple Watch. However my children love it because it gives them the ability to annoy me anytime they get hold of any of my Tile connected items.

Waste of money

Literally never works when you need it to.

Saves so much time

I swear half my life is spent looking for things... Tile gives me the opportunity to experience life like I've never seen it before

Great app but...

Bill bill bill ??????

Tile performs as advertised- one gripe is around human factors: a small font on a white background is hard for people over 40 to read. When I am in a hurry I want to find my keys - show me a big button with no words.

"please turn on bluetooth"

wasp604

No! I keep bluetooth turned off for power-saving reasons. Apple doesn't seem to get the idea either. When I tap off, I mean "off". Apple thinks it means "less", and Tile seems to think it means "not right now". No. I never leave unnecessary radio functions on. Nobody should; It's a bad habit to leave them on all the time if they're not needed. Tile needs to understand that there are some of us who think this way, and that we won't be swayed by the 6th, 7th, or umpteenth time you ask, "please turn on your bluetooth" I get that that's your schtick. But no. I am not using it right now; It stays off.

Perfect for my crazy life!

At first everything worked perfectly. I am always loosing something so this little gadget was a lifesaver. After a few months the find my keys feature stopped working which is the main thing I need it for. It will still find my phone but that’s it. I have updated the app with no luck. Wondering if I can get half of my makeup net back....

This is the best

Used to lose my wallet all the time, now I can find it in 5 seconds. Super clutch

App refresh

Sgt_Oddjob

You seem to have an app issue, which is why I’m giving you 1 star. I have lost my tile and when I open the app, I get a yellow lettered warning to turn on app refresh. I cant turn it on because it shows that it is on already. I don’t even have the option to shut off app refresh. This isn’t helping me find my tile.
