People overlook this sound-source/controller, but - as some recent reviews attest - ThumbJam has been a high-quality App-Store resource for a long time now. I am delighted to find it is still getting revised and extended so deep into its software life cycle. For performance, looping, and recording, anyone making music on this mobile platform should seriously consider buying this app. Should you already have ThumbJam and you have moved on to the latest and flashiest new releases, this app is worth a revisit. It is easy to let great apps fall into disuse when there are so many options in the store and on your device. Happily, ThumbJam lives on - long may it continue!

This app was recommended to Bleikr Sound Studio by guitar legend Robert Fripp. This is all I needed to purchase, and have never been disappointed. Recorded loops can be tricky to synchronize. All included sounds / instruments are of professional studio quality.

As a drummer, I don’t play other instruments. ThumbJam allows me to lay down a drum track then add ThumbJam tracks on top, creating unending possibilities for a lone musician with no real melodic skills. The variety if instruments and controls allow the creation of bazillions of unique tones, while playing them on my phone actually allows me to give them all a real instrument feel. I really can’t say enough good things about this app! Buy it. Donate! These developer folk deserve it.

I love this app. It sounds so realistic; like an actual orchestra is playing my music. I have no complaints, just one suggestion; I would like it if there was a realistic choir sample, for pieces featuring choral parts. :)

I agree with the others on here. Thumb jam is truly very good but I'm only giving it 4 stars because of the layout. I'm a keyboard and pianist and I, wish these guys didn't have to shy away from the keyboard layout for playing the instruments. I truly HATE THIS LAYOUT TO DEATH!! Why'd they spoil such a great app and create this stupid layout. This app would, hands down, be a 5 star app but, the absence of the piano keys make it 3 stars. I don't use it because of this flaw. Well, Sonosaurus. I, tried my hardest to use this app which could very well be my favorite but after using again, I would give this app a ZERO if I could and this may be nit picky for some but I truly cannot get by this stupid layout of yours and I seriously mean this when I say that I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT ANY DEVELOPER IN THEIR RIGHT MIND THINKS THAT EVERYONE COULD LIKE THIS MORONIC-TYPE LAYOUT. It’s so FRUSTRATING to me because I really like the music sounds but as it stands, at least with me, I USE, SAMPLE TANK which has great sounds but they use the normal keyboard layout which is why Sample Tank gets a 5 STAR and Thumb Jam would get a ZERO if I could rate it that low. I would like a developer response to my review please. You skipped over my last review but we’ll see.
