Why does your APP overheat my iphone8?

Spent a lot of time on the app and bought some pretty cool shirts an stuff through the years but now can’t go 10 seconds with out a pop up or some imbedded ad. Deleting today, maybe I’ll watch network TV again, less ads there.. sad day ... see ya chive.

I have religiously looked at thechive every night for years. Well, now, I’m done. It was fine on my 5, 5s, 6. Well recently it has gone to straight garbage, laggy, doesn’t load posts, freezes, force closes on its own, restarts. After looking at one or two laggy galleries, it cause my phone to run slower than anything! Not one other app I use creates these issues. Deleting until it’s fixed, I’m sure I’ll hear from someone when it’s as good as it was. Update: tried it again, still complete trash. Makes every single app on my phone lag, freeze and start force closing, even my texting! Permanently deleted, will never use this ad riddled, slow, pop-up laden app.

Used to be a great app but the ads now lock the app for 30 seconds and do not provide the ability to exit after the time expires. Makes me feel like I’m being tortured with crap advertising. Enough is enough.

Turn for the worst

The app has been deteriorating over the past serval months. Each update it get worse. Thread won’t open all all. Constant crashes and if it’s not doing that it takes forever to even load a thread. But don’t worry the ads will work perfectly every time. Seems like it’s a money grab at this point. There are quite a few time where ads literally make it make the app unusable. It will pop up and ad, I close it, it puts it up again and again and again. Literally can’t do anything other than close the ad. I’m ok with so ads I get it, it’s pays the bills but these ads are quite invasion and ruin your overall experience. If you don’t believe me look at all the reviews in the past few months. It’s honestly quite sad it USE to be a great app.

What happened?

I can watch my battery percentage drop as I look at galleries, unfortunately I can’t do this long as it makes my phone so hot I have to set it down. I get the adds, Chive has to make enough money to front the lifestyle they now flaunt. But fix the battery, heat, and glitch issues or you’ll have to get real jobs like the rest of us... best content, worst app.

Ads have completely ruined a great app

I used to love checking the app multiple times a day but the pop up ads the app now uses make it almost useless. The ads are now constant, bringing you to the App Store or onto random sites pretty much anytime you click on anything. (I’d just go to the site itself but somehow that’s even worse when accessing from phone)

I have been a chiver for a couple of years now. I can’t take it any more. I can’t even get through one page with out locking up. Too many ads. Too many pop ups. Slow content. I’ll take my chances elsewhere thank you very much.

I understand advertising and how important it is to profitability but when Pornhub has less ads and is easier to use than your app yeah might want to rethink your advertising methods. Plus the scroll function is still freezing after two updates as well as random unexplained crashing. I’ve been a user of this app for years but every time I use it the app fails........ now months after this review still nothing has changed it’s actually gotten worse. Now the phone literally freezes mid scroll and won’t even let me turn off the screen. You guys need a serious cold restart your code for this app has been complied and swamped down to the point it’s unusable. I used to LOVVVEEE this app now I can’t even use it
