Slow and then crashes

It seems like since they doubled the amount of ads displayed, the app has slowed down horribly and eventually crashes. Too bad, I used to enjoy it.

the app is so slow. It locks up my phone. I have to quit after viewing every gallery if I want to load another one. I would use the mobile site but those galleries throw up the Amazon pop-up constantly. That might be my phone but either way the combination of the two is driving me away from the site.

Deleted the app because of the severe battery drain. Within a minute and a half I’ve being in the app, my battery drops 20%.
Website is better than the app!

I love The Chive!! I think they provide and do amazing things!! This app is terrible though. I haven't experienced this much lag since the early days of dial up. Their swipe sensitivity is awful and often makes you either start to change the feed/story or accidentally maximize one of their MANY ads. Also half of their links redirect you to the website rather than simply pulling it up on the app. Honestly the website is so much more enjoyable than the app. I get frustrated using the app!

TheChive will always be theChive, that will never change. They are a great community and have awesome content. This app is not just difficult to deal with it is actually detrimental to my phone. I understand that ads will be everywhere. I don’t care that they are. If I wanted an ad free experience I’d pay the $12 a year for it so I don’t really care that ads are everywhere. I just want a functional app. Galleries will not load. Ads will not play before a video or kick on halfway through a 7 second video. An ad will start to load while I am halfway through a gallery and shut off... then load... then shut off, until I close out the app and restart it. Again, I don’t mind the ads but make them work seamlessly with your product, not against it. My phone is so busy trying to handle theChive app and it’s continuous crashes and loading times that I only realize my battery has dropped 30% in the past 5 minutes because my phone is overheating. Chive. I have been on android and iPhone... your apps have failed on both accounts. Please step yo game up.

Too many ads. Causes iPhoneX to get excessively hot after a few minutes. Frequently fails to load photos, and crashes. Hopefully the developer can fix the bugs...

Not the same anymore, reposted memes, advertisement in every location, and lost most originality. At this rate I will have to delete the app. Very disappointing to say the least.
