I have an iPhone 7+ and the app continues to under perform. Even after the update, my app continues to crash constantly and the scrolling locks up maybe 2-3 scrolls in on albums. I can’t even view the content any more because it’s frustrating to have it constantly freeze my phone. I’m also disappointed in the amount of staff changes in recent years and individuals who used to be featured on the app have also seemed to call it quits on the Chive. It’s very concerning especially since I used to love rocking the gear and meeting other chivers. Now I’m meeting people who have the app yet tell me they didn’t even realize it was still on their phones because it’s been so long since they’ve visited it. Please revert back to the good old Chive from 3-4 years ago when everything about being a Chiver was awesome.

see edits at bottom content is great if you can get to it. windstar cruise video ad pops up every 20 seconds that you have to close, every video buffers for like 30 seconds then makes you watch an ad (sometimes longer than the actual video), and constant back and forth redirects to the app store edit: now the ads have ads. watch an ad before a video plays and halfway through ANOTHER ad takes over the screen. once you get through it, you have to finish the original ad to continue BIG EDIT: upgrading from 1 star to 4 stars. they culled the ad craziness. still takes 10 seconds or so for an ad to load when you try to watch a video. fix that and its 5 stars. kcco

Loved Chive for a long time but the app is pretty bad. The constant barrage of ads is over the top annoying, but my biggest problem is that the app crashes constantly. After a few posts my phone gets really hot and the app becomes unusable. All other apps on my phone work great, this is the only app that causes these issues. In dire need of an update and also they need to tone down the ads.

Love the message, hate the messenger. Just creepy guys taking pictures of half-naked plasticene barbie dolls, but with money. Wonderful app, ads load so fast now, gallerys? thats another matter, at 3Mbs download, gallerys still take a few min to load, if at all. Comments are by far the most entertaining, because thats all you can get. Highly reccomend using this app right before a tax audit, the audit won't seem so bad by comparison. Now crashes and is a memory hog

I feel like every time I open this app my phone begins downloading malware. The content is entertaining and all but the longer the app in open the slower and slower it gets until it just seemingly freezes. I don’t mind that there are ads, but I do suspect they are the reason the app becomes unusable after about 60 seconds. UPDATE: The app was updated with bug fixes!! Still doesn’t work.

Content and value. Purpose and influence. Down to 4 stars Still love the content. Don’t mind the ads. I cannot believe how much battery life this ap uses! It’s nuts! Freezes all the time. Very unreliable. Enjoy!

It seems to be the only app on my phone that struggles to load pictures. I’m guessing it’s all the flooding of the ads. Probably going to delete it soon.

If I could give 0 stars I would. It's one thing to have ads. But when I click out of it and it takes me right back into the same ad 2, 3 times in a row, it makes the app unusable. Half the time it takes me out of the app itself and loads me into the App Store to purchase whatever pop up bs comes up. Not cool chive. Went from keep calm and chive on, to keep calm and uninstall.
