pretty good but....

KepanoT

Mostly, the app did what I wanted it to, but when I wanted to back up a little and hear something again, it just coninued on... I had to drag the progress bar backwards and even that wanted to pop back to where I was before...

Courses don’t download

glj new jersey

The little download icon doesn’t work and there is no menu to provide another way listen offline.

Unwanted courses I can’t get delete from library

mikeg1307

The app fills my digital library with promo (“free”) courses i don’t care about. First they are not really free as only the first lecture is available, and they’re just there cluttering my library to bait me to buy courses I’ve never expresses interest in. Second, there is no way to delete these unwanted courses, and contacting customer support doesn’t help.

Needs CarPlay support

calgarywalk

While the app does a good job organizing and managing content, it really needs to support CarPlay for audio-only content. Without that it’s pretty difficult to listen to courses while commuting.

Can’t download in app

ERZeb

No download button in iPhone app

App does not work well

KYZNH

Initially I used this and was so pleased but a few weeks later I go back and my content isn’t available. It shows six downloads but I cannot access them. This app is not tested and does not work. I can access the courses fine from my computer or browser. They should not put out an app if they aren’t going to support it or ensure it continues to work. It shouldn’t be that hard! I’m disappointed as I’d hoped to use this on my phone more.

Worst app Ever

Clearly outdated. Have tried for 1 plus hour to access content to no avail. Deleting, to NEVER return. Avoid at all costs. Waste of money and time.

Love The Great Courses, the makes it even greater

Henri Poincaré

TGC app makes accessing their material even easier. And although I also like websites like Coursera, those materials don’t lend themselves nearly as well to learning “on the go” as TGC does because TGC material does not constantly interrupt you with prompts to continue or to answer questions.

Distracting opaque banner

Pf-WX

When casting to the TV via Apple TV a distracting opaque banner appears blocking my view. I don’t need to be told that I am casting.

Still doesn’t download in the background

Frailb

It’s pretty inconvenient that this app still doesn’t download content in the background. Each lecture in my course is over 300MB, which is a long time to wait with the app open each time. Overall the app works reasonably well, but just lacks polish compared to your more modern apps.
