Cracked is awesome; the app is not!

Sgtleroy

To start, I love Cracked, have been reading for over 6 years now (it's really been a good way to keep informed and has helped me understand a few concepts that no one else has been able to. I even listen the every episode of the podcast when they're available. However, I have a couple issues with this app. First up (a problem I've had for awhile) is the fact that your photoplasties do not appear to support GIFs. I end up having to go to my browser to view the ones that contain them. Not that I have a problem doing so, but it defeats the purpose of having the app if I have to go to the browser to get the intent of some parts. Other apps on my phone can do this, I think you can, too. Second, the ads. I keep getting redirected to the App Store for ads. I don't mind ads, but keep them where I'm already viewing. I end up having to completely close the App Store and cracked and start over at the beginning, sometimes more than once for the same article. Those two small fixes would make you five stars in my book.

Ad Pop-ups

automillie

Just fix the ad pop-ups. Everything else about the app is good. But the ad redirection makes the app unusable and there's barely any point in having the app. If you could just fix the ads this would get 5 stars from me

Miss you, Cracked!

Harp Core

I used to read every word you put out, but I can't anymore. I want to, but I can't. I would love it if you fixed your horrible popup problem, but for some reason you won't. I'd pay for a functioning version. I miss it.

Too Many Ads

Whatsthepointnow?

I love Cracked. It's the only thing I read on my phone. But the ads are making it IMPOSSIBLE to use the app anymore.

Ads make app worthless

BleedingBullet

I spend more time navigating back to the cracked app from the app store than i do reading articles or photoplasties (plasti?) so i chose not to use the app anymore. I really enjoy cracked and used this app all the time on the go, but now i can't enjoy cracked when i'm out and about. Two middle fingers up to the ad update.

Ads take over

Jayson Andrew

For being a paid app, I can't get through half an article without the ads kicking me to the App Store and as soon as I switch back, it does it again nonstop. I can't even finish the articles because it won't let me. This is ridiculous!

Ads pulling to App Store are overwhelming

PerfectlyFrank27

I can't scroll past a single paragraph without being automatically taken to App Store. There's a bug in your ad software, it couldn't be this bad intentionally. I can't even get back to article, it loops me immediately back to the App Store. Deleting the app. It's a shame, used it for years.

Great site HORRIBLE app

Muchobeasto

I love Cracked. Funny, sometimes thought-provoking articles, amusing photoplasty, and overall great content. The app, however, is horrible. It constantly redirects to the Apple App Store, attempting to sell you the latest Candy Crush crap. This wouldn't be so bad except once redirected it will often continue to loop back, again and again, making reading any article on Cracked all but impossible. Whomever designed this piece of garbage should be promptly fired.

Filled with ads

Barely Legally Blond

I'm a long time reader of cracked and paid for the full version of the app awhile ago. It's a mess now, opening pages and pages of ads on my phone one after the other. You can barely get through an article. Half the time the ads even make the app crash or scroll up to the beginning of the article. By the time you scroll back to where you were, another ad pops up.

Excessive hijacking ads

Too annoyed to enjoyed

Love cracked. Have had the app for a while and used to love it. However, the pop up ads and constant redirecting to App Store is excessive. You can't even read an article without being redirected to the App Store several times. It's no longer enjoyable. I doubt it'll be fixed because I'm sure they are getting paid for every redirect. Put ads like a normal site/app... Unobstructive and out of the way! Seems worse when using data instead of wifi too?
