Subscriptions

Polarcub2016

I like watching and baking the Tastemade desserts but about a month ago was able to watch unlimited videos without paying for it. Now you can only watch 5 free videos a month instead of all of them. You have to buy a subscription to have unlimited access to videos and Live TV.

Money money money

This app used to be amazing even with adds but now there’s one before every video and you are forced to subscribe to see more than four videos a month? It’s kind of ridiculous. Had the app for two years and just deleted it.

Used to love it

This subscription & 5 free video a MONTH bs destroyed the app i would’ve picked this over tasty a few months back but now every video you watch has an ad even if the video is 1min long the subscription is pushed to much i was fine in the beginning when videos where locked for subscription only but now they dont guve you the option to not have it i rather pay for the app upfront in itunes then get annoyed everytime i click on something

Not worth it anymore

jc the food guy

This app use to be amazing you could look at almost any recipe free and continually go back to it, now you only can view 5 videos a month so if you want to make something you saw you use another free video watch or you have to wait till next month again. Now they want you to pay to have access to what use to be completely free. It’s not worth the money.

So Disappointed

Katara2201

I never write a review, but this app really disappointed me. Without a subscription you can only watch 5 videos a month! I find that so ridiculous, and honestly it made me delete the app. Why would I want to take up storage with an app that is so limited? I would’ve loved to write a better review because the app really is fun, and the videos are wonderful as well as the tastemakers, but unfortunately this 5 video limit is really ridiculous.

Paying?

I understand that a lot of apps new some sort of purchasing but I shouldn’t have to pay to make a desert or breakfast or ANYthing for my mother..

Where Did This Come From?

ShadowNinja534

I always knew there were videos that required a subscription, but now it feels like EVERY video requires a subscription. With only 5 free videos a month now, it just doesn’t seem worth it. I really like Tastemade, but I might just have to go elsewhere. I know I’m not the only one who has noticed this. I hope this issue gets resolved. Thank You -Avery

what happened???

Peaches&Mint

i used to love this app. the recipes are good quality and unique and the videos are aesthetically pleasing and easy to follow. almost every single recipe i use comes from here, and one of my favorite things was how most of the videos were free - emphasis on WERE. the app started going downhill after the design was updated. i enjoyed being able to shuffle through endless videos without even touching the screen, but after the app was updated, i was forced to watch the same freaking zillow ad before every recipe and couldn’t just swipe through videos. yes, i understand that a lot of tastemade’s money comes in from ads. and no, i don’t mind ads when i’m getting something for free, but some variety would’ve been nice. and it also would’ve been great if you actually explained that you were changing the design in the update description instead of saying “we’re constantly trying to make your experience better,” because honey, you did not make my experience any better. but my biggest issue is the most recent update. here i am going onto the app in hopes of finding something quick and gluten free to make for dinner when a little notification pops up telling me i only have 4 more free videos for the rest of the month. y’all, what? only 5 videos a month? i don’t even get a preview of the recipes to see if i have any of the ingredients? don’t get a mere description of the video i’m clicking on besides “gluten free buffalo chicken tenders”? again, i know tastemade is a growing company with people that need to be paid, and i have no problem paying for recipes, but the way this was handled did feel like a bit of a trick. i don’t want to pay $7.99 a month for plus when i’d only be using the recipes. i don’t need unlimited saves or access to cooking classes, invite-only events, and live tv. why should i be forced into buying a plan i don’t need? maybe tastemade should consider a “token system” where you can buy 6 tokens for $0.99 and “premium” videos cost 3 token. or maybe they should create a plan for just videos without the live tv, access to events, and unlimited saves that costs only $4.99 a month. or maybe the videos can cost money but written recipes are free. but, if you are looking for a good recipe app and don’t mind spending some money, i do recommend this app. but, if you’re like me and don’t have $7.99 a month to spare on nonsense, i would just stick with the Tasty app.

Don’t Get This

crazy snap chat girl

This app is great except for you have to pay money just to get recipes, and if you don’t start paying you only get 3 videos w/ ingredients and instructions to watch this then no more anything until you pay MONEY. That’s what I have to say about this. Great recipes though!

Fantastic to Worse

this used to be one of my favorite apps, but now it’s probably the least. i used to go on all the time and i was so excited to make different foods. it was a lot of fun. BUT NOWWW i have to pay to enjoy the app??? it said i was able to watch three videos a month?? it glitched on one of the videos and counted it as one. i’m not going to pay $5 a month for the app when i can just easily look up recipes on the internet.
