Great App, couple fixes

gogaton

This app is great! After finishing the beginner classes, I gladly purchased the $6 bundle for the rest. However there are a couple minor changes I wish the developers would make: 1) a way to save progress in the middle of a lesson. So many times I’ll have to restart a lesson because mid-lesson I respond to a text or other notification that popped up, and when I return to the app, the lesson was restarted. 2) The typing... its so pointless and so annoying. Showing exactly what needs to be typed defeats the purpose in my opinion. So many times when “type the code” comes up I’ll just mindlessly tap into my keyboard the keys that show up already on the screen. Only after spending a minute or so typing, then I’ll look at the code in its entirety and try to figure out how it relates to the lesson and what it’s output will be. Having to go through typing it out seems pointless, not to mention annoying. Otherwise I’m very glad I downloaded this app!

Great for beginners and students

I downloaded this app to add to the knowledge I’m gaining in my computer programming-based classes in school. And because there are a number of programming software out here, it is practical to become familiar with the different code, although they all range in difference only by a little bit. TapCoding is provides positive feedback, practice in writing code, and daily reminders to practice. I enjoy it so much, please download if you’re unsure about coding.

Very good

Awd2018

Easy to use and learn so far. I completed 4 lessons. It’s good to do one a day. Good interface.

Works good easy to learn

Tap coding has made learning code a lot faster!

3 feet from gold

The top comment is so true. A few things are keeping this app from being a 5*

Excellent App

I really like this app for learning the basics of writing Swift code, I hope they other apps or build one that has multiple languages in one app because I like the practical exercises.

Eliminate the code typing requirement in review

ohfawk

Useful and convenient introduction to swift coding concepts; however, once you buzzed through the sections one time you should be able to review the material without being required to type out the written code exercises to access the subsequent material rapidly. That is unnecessary, counterproductive and a real pain.

Good so far

This is for beginners, but I think the few month of experience I have with Swift gives it context. I recommend this app, but you may want to complete an XCode tutorial or two beforehand otherwise this may not make much sense, and will feel unproductive. I haven’t gotten to the point where it asks for money, but if it keeps up the good work, I’ll probably buy.

Splendid! buy it!

RanBash

This app is absolutely great. I understand the complaints of others but I must say this app is simple. As long as you keep a journal to take notes and actually practice the courses in Xcode; you will do just fine. It can be annoying to use the mobile keyboard to do code but that’s something you need to work around. Use all your resources. Sometimes this developers writing skills aren’t the best ( like starting sentences with because) but if you get the point then who cares. If there is a problematic english error, developer allows you to report it. All-in-all, I’m in love with this apps simplicity. I bought the full bundle. Thanks for sharing your knowledge! :)

Lack of logic

Why I can’t go to another app while playing in yours without loosing all the progress?????
