1942 was another year of the German armed forces advancing deep into the Soviet Union. This year the main battles were around Leningrad in the Stalingrad in the South. While the summer campaign was another series of German victories the year would end with the surrounding of the German 6th army at Stalingrad. The mass of obsolete Soviet tanks had been destroyed in 1941 with only the T-26 still appearing in any numbers. Now the main Soviet tank is the deadly T-34. The Germans struggled to match this until later in the year with the arrival of the Panzer IVf2 with a long 75mm gun and then the deadly Tiger Tank.
Missions vary from straightforward wipe out the enemy missions, to capture key objectives, to protect vital supply convoys. There is a whole range of missions to reflect the tactical complexity on warfare on the Eastern Front.
The game system is based on, and a major upgrade of, the successful game engine developed for ‘Tank Battle: North Africa’. Tank Battle: 1941 is already available from the App Store. More Tank Battle: East Front missions will follow with the release of Tank Battle: East Front 1943, 1944 and 1945 in the coming weeks.

Tank Battle 1942 is superb. I've been doing hex war games since the sixties and this is top shelf. This sister to Tank Battle 1941 introduces new weapons in historical order. Great!
I don't like how you guys are separating it into 5 different games like c'mon that's a little greedy
Units look very similar so you have to click on them to see which one is it. Easy accidentally touch and do an unwanted move with no undo. Slow animation. After all just not a good game.
The game reminds me of the "Battle of the Bulge" board games I use to play. Simple & challenging, I can typically pick up where ever I left off when I'm killing time outside the house. An "undo" would be useful in this game. That said the game is pretty solid.
These are perfect version much like panzer leader and such from many years ago. Keep the games coming with either in game purchases or new game variations. The detail on the latest one is much better than the original.
One of the best I've come across. I hope the continue and make one for the WWII western front and pacific
I have all of their games. This is the best -more weapons - all work the way they should. Super Game
These guys are doing the best turn/hex gamed for iOS. Buy their stuff!
What I love about the hunted cow games is how they try to realistically simulate an actual battle. The attention to historical detail in all their games is great but never better here. The potential for interesting games based on actual battles, tactics, and equipment on the Eastern Front is especially appealing. I think you could make a good argument that this theatre represented the largest, most complex, tank battles in history and probably that we will ever see. Love this game!
