Great shows, AWFUL app

I love the network’s shows, but this app is horrible. Screen becomes unresponsive, crashes, fails to load. Actually would have gave it 3 stars, but the fact that the station purports to be “Geeky” you’d think they could handle a mundane app.

I feel like I watch 10minutes of commercials each time I watch a show every 7mins. Geez I’d almost rather pay for cable or better yet just wait till the shows come on either Hulu or Netflix!

First off... I’ll start by saying the app itself is not bad. The issue I have is that, I installed this app to catch up on the second season of Van Helsing. Because shock and awe, I have a very busy life and often can’t find time to sit and watch a show until most if not all the season has played. But much to my dismay, you can only find like the last 5 episodes of a show. I tried Wynona Earp too... seems kind of asinine if you ask me. This personally is why most people wait for it to come on Netflix. This app has the potential to be more, but just settles for being mediocre.

Great app! My favorite SYFY shows are all here. And, the small issue I was having with it, the developers helped me fix right away. I highly recommend this app if you’re trying to watch syfy shows on the go or getting caught up on your favorite shows.

Constantly Drops Connection

The app works great once you get it to connect to your Chromecast, but it constantly drops connection. If you're watching and don't need to pause for any reason, you won't have any issues, but if you need to pause, you'll drop the connection and have to reconnect. When you reconnect, your show will start over from the beginning. It's extremely irritating.

What’s happened??

Didn’t have any problem watching a show recently over several days. Wanted to catch the last episode today and the app won’t play the videos. There is obviously a problem on their end as my WiFi is working just fine. Please fix this!

Doesn’t allow for smooth playback

My shows will freeze every 10 minutes and I have to close out of the app and reopen my show to make it resume video playback. It’s extremely frustrating because I use cellular data to stream (don’t have WiFi at my house) and the fix customer service gave me was to watch over WiFi. Their explanation was “the app is only meant for WiFi streaming and not LTE. WHAT? Then why is it an option to stream over LTE if it isn’t meant for that? I have full bars of service and EVERYTHING streams amazingly on Netflix and the actual NBC app. Fix this issue!!!

No problems at all. Easy to use. Unlike some other streaming apps this one makes it really easy to pick the show you want to watch.

Frustrating Time Waster

I go to the website to watch the pilot of one of their series and get rerouted to their app page, which is annoying and wastes time. I download the app only to find that it still won’t let me watch anything ; the excuse now is that I have to create an account and blah blah blah. I'm not sure SyFy knows that there are easier ways to access shows, but then again, they also didn’t notice how stupid their name was.
