Summoner Wars for iOS is a digital card game with all the tactical elements of a board game. Summoner Wars for iOS allows players to control the Phoenix Elves faction and battle against AI opponents or go online to play against others. Nine additional factions such as the Tundra Orcs, Guild Dwarves and Cave Goblins are available through the game’s in-app store. For those who wish to take the game to the next level, a deck-editor allows players to select the cards in their factions and reinforcements to build a custom deck to play with, within the confines of the rules. Changing cards can affect game play, making the game infinitely customizable.

A Playdek online account is required to play online.

Summoner Wars is a popular fantasy card game where players take on the role of a Summoner. Players cast spells and summon warriors to a battlefield and tactically maneuver them in an effort to defeat their opponent’s summoner. Summoner Wars offers many faction decks for players to choose from, like the precise Phoenix Elves, the hordes of Cave Goblins, or the righteous Vanguards. Each faction offers unique play and requires players to adapt to the special strategies available to that faction. Summoner Wars the card game was released in 2009 and has received critical acclaim from a variety of board game review sites.

Needs support for the new screens

This is a great game but the resolution doesn’t work well on some of the newer iPhones This seems like it should be a fairly easy fix

Great game BUT...
FirstJohn318

In desperate need of an update. If nothing else there needs to be an undo button. But other than that...notifications on iphone don’t work. Pinch to zoom would be nice so I can zoom without having to worry about activating an ability. It is hard to see the corner cards sometimes. I would love to see the alliances set introduced also but at tue very least, an undo button!!!! UNDO!!!! Then it would jump to a 4 star. 5 star if everything else gets updated!

Purchases don’t transfer
dis app oint me 6473

I bought 2 factions a long time ago, then I my iPad stopped working. Fast forward a year and we got my kids an iPad. I downloaded the app again and my purchases won’t show up again.

Minor UI issue

Great method of confirming move and attack. Needs same confirmation method for placement. Several times cards get dropped where I didn’t want them. I’ve also had issues where reading card text triggered abilities that I didn’t want. Some of these will go away as I learn the cards, but it’s a barrier to learning the game. Other than that, it’s worth buying the decks. Pass and Play works great too.

Great except for Bugs and lack of opponent factions

This game works but the ai can take a while and there are a few bugs here and there. Also when you buy the full version or all the factions, the game won't let you vs certain ai factions which are the filth, Deep Dwarves, Swamp orcs, Cloaks, and Mercenaries. Pro: Works and is fun. Just like the board game. Interesting soundtrack and there are unique sound effects for some units/summoner. Multiplayer Online Cons: Buggy A.I. Can take a while to think. Incomplete a.i. factions TO GO AGAINST even if you bought all factions. (So sad) No updates to fix or add anything (app likely abandoned despite this app being very expensive if you bought all factions) Needs newer factions (alliances, 2nd summoners). Has only all cards up to reinforcement packs.

This app hasn’t worked in three months. Won’t connect.

The computer really seems like it's cheating.

When I get three 1s in a row, and the computer gets 5 for 5 on its last move to kill my summoner, it's really hard to believe the game is fair. One time I could forgive, dice streaks happen, but I've played maybe 50 games against the computer at this point and something like that happens in about half of them. And it always happens when the computer gambles on getting the last hit.

Cheating dice

Game game is fun and the AI is reasonably challenging. The problem is the cheating dice. The AI seams to hit about 66% of the time. That is good, because a hit is a 3-6 on a 6 sided die. Unfortunately I roll 1s and 2s 66% of the time. It is extremely frustration to roll 5 1s or 2s at a critical moment just to have the computer hit 5 in a row. I understand that bad rolls happen but the frequency is just too obvious. I also am suspicious about the computer having the right cards at the right moment but this may just be due to my frustration of the non-random die roles.

Great game needs bug fixes

Further development could be amazing for this app

Great app!

Very impressed overall. I've played around 15 online games and 100+ offline. Very few crashes, and those don't affect the game when it happens, just reboot and pick up where you left off. Love the game for the strategy and variety. App has good artwork, sounds, and is pretty easy to use and understand. After owning and playing the board version, it's very nice to have a computer that interprets the rules consistently and correctly. 4.5 stars from me for the following downers: 1. No undo button. Understandable, but could be a tad more forgiving to new players. 2. One turn of bad/good rolling can decide the game. Not an app problem, just inherent in the game. 3. Only rule oops I can find is with Sunderved's mountain warriors not persisting in having a +1 attack bonus on the opponents side. Only works 1-2 times, but I believe should always happen. 4. No way to communicate in-game with opponents. This would be nice for the guys that I've played 10+ competitive games with, but can't chat with or set up our own deck-specific challenges or something. 5. Board game rules include optional 4-player game rules. I WOULD LOVE FOR THE APP TO HAVE THAT TOO.
