Almost decent

na_jiddler

I’m using an iPad Air 1 and it’s almost solid. One issue is that the MIDI output will routinely skip notes which kinda defeats the purpose of the app. It’s really the only negative of the app, but it’s a biggie. Hopefully it gets fixed. Otherwise, I can’t recommend this til it does

Really is the best so far

Title says it all. This is the best type of app for this purpose imo.

Great app, great developer

Thanks for adding octave shift in the Options. Sometimes it is nice to go a little “brighter” or “darker” than the default by changing the octave.

Really good app, minor issues

I really like the spirit of this app and its simplicity. Having the ability to sketch out chord progressions while standing on the subway is invaluable. A few things I would like to be improved. Having the ability to set how many times a section should repeat would make song building easier. Some scales are just incorrect, for example the C minor blues scale is spelled as C D# E# F# G A# rather than the more universally common C Eb F Gb G Bb. The difference is substantial: the second note in the scale is a minor third, not a sharp second; the last note a flat seven not a sharp sixth, etc. I believe most people think about the notes that way, unless I’ve been living under a rock. Similarly, certain chords are spelled with weird enharmonics, for example when in C major, the A7 (as secondary dominant) is spelled A Db E G, but we all know that the second note is a major third, i.e., a C, not a flat four (!). That’s just plain wrong.

THIS IS MAGIC

I love this app, normally it would take me some time to write complimentary chords but since finding this it’s a cakewalk, it really helps you find the best sounding chords for your project and saves so much time in the process. Really let’s me focus on creating rather than theory. Recommend highly A++ Edit: please add ability play chords while you listen to the ones you’ve already chosen! Not sure what’s involved in that but it would be great to hear what you already have and AND pick at the same time! Still a fantastic app!

Good!!! (but missing one key feature)

Diviiinci

This app really helps me transcribe ideas in my head. Very useful for situations that don’t allow access to a piano, or guitar. The only downside is that there seems to be now feature that allows you to use triplets without using a 3/4 or 6/8 time signature. While polyrhythms and compound signatures are cool, it would be nice to be able to use triplets in 4/4 time.

Very helpful

Tiege444

Ive always wanted to figure out how to put chord progressions together and this makes it very easy. Thanks!

Esoteric made practical

moisha99

Intuitive and easy way to tap very esoteric theory, right before your ears and eyes. Find families of chords in any number of scales and modes. Then hear subtle variations on piano playback to help sketch a song. Even though I’m guitar player, still very useful. Hats off to the developer!

Awesome app, no need to upgrade nor make changes

Heat 2012

Awesome app, I love it!!!, this is what I needed to learn more about music and it’s very easy for me to think and start coming up with music. Thank you!!! Awesome app, I’m a big fan. I play Guitar, I’m 25 years old and this is an app I need soo much. 5 stars for bringing so much help, that I want to learn and I hope their will be no freeze nor bugs. ???
