I am glad to be using Sugarmate and have found it to be much better at presenting my data than Dexcom. They should take a page from the Sugarmate playbook. There are two things that I would find helpful: * When the phone is plugged in, offer the ability to leave the display on. * The signup process needs some usability testing on an iPhone 7. It was difficult to go through the process but I eventually figured it out. I’m hoping that switching from the G5 to the G6 will be easy because I am about to do that in a few weeks.

I have been using Sugarmate as my first choice for tracking my diabetes insulin logs. I am running a Medtronics 670 on manual mode along with a Dexcom G6. The Sugarmate app is easier to use than the Dexcom and Sugarmate gives you far more information. I love the ability to look back over my last few hours. And I can choose to look at 12, 24 hours or days. I use this ability frequently to better understand how To respond to carbohydrate loads and giving the correct bolus. Sugarmate has become my most used app on my iPhone

This app is a must for any G5 or G6 user. Our 6yr old has T1D and I can’t express how thankful I am for this app and its ability to call and text alerts when she goes low. Even if my phone is on silent I am able to get the alerts. You can do this by creating a contact for sugarmate, then go to your contacts and edit the specific ringtone of that sugarmate contact. When you do that, the very top option says “emergency bypass”. Make sure that is on and you are all set. I’m truly thankful to the developers. This app has significantly changed my daughters quality of life and given us a vital tool in our fight against T1D.

Our daughter was diagnosed at 18 months. We didn’t initially know about the Sugarmate app, but a few months in I discovered the app and it’s been a game changer. I love that it doesn’t wait until my daughter’s blood sugar has been low for 15 minutes or more before notifying me. Love, love, love the call feature. Drops during the night or while I’m away at work trigger a phone call directly to my phone, even if it’s on Do Not Disturb, and we are able to get up to treat her low or text her caregiver with instructions. This app is FAR more superior than the Dexcom app. I wouldn’t think twice about paying for it if there was a fee — it’s just that good.

I’ve tried a bunch of different apps and this is, hands down, the best. It integrates perfectly with Apple Health. I love that you can set micro units for insulin. I’m hoping in the future that you can add inositol and other diabetic supplements, but that’s super nit-picky at this point.
