I was skeptical at first, having the Dexcom app already, thinking the two would be the same. However, after reading other embers of my FB groups having Sugarmate and liking it, I thought I would give it go. I can always delete it later... Not gonna happen! Totally love this app. I’m able to track everything I need to in one app. It’s able to connect to everything it needs to get as much info as possible. I am in love with the info tiles on the HOME screen. The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 star rating is because you do have to be slightly technologically intelligent to connect it a Watch or another device. It took me a little bit of time to get it to work, but now that I’ve got it set up, works great. And the readings showing up on my watch face are more consistent than the straight actual Dexcom app. Love it!

If you’re a diabetic or a caregiver for a diabetic you know how much it seems life can be out of control. A miscalculated dosage or carb count. Insulin too early or too late because mealtime changed. Forgetting because you’re juggling ten other things because life does not stop for diabetes. A little extra exercise which for most people is good but diabetics not so much if dosage wasn’t adjusted. A cold, stress, a steroid injection, certain foods, certain times of the day, sleep, the color of your shirt (at least it feels like it at times) This app takes the pretty much useless Dexcom app and wraps it in so many useful and valuable options it is truly a game changer. Your glucose comes direct from the Dexcom reading. You have food lookups so you don’t need another app to figure out carbs. You record your dosing, medicine, exercise, and you can set up custom notes to show when there is stress, illness, a pump issue, anything you want. Best of all it exports it all to an Excel report that you can email to yourself, your doctor, whomever and start to see trends that you never caught before. Sorry that wasn’t best. The alerts are the best. You get all Dexcom has plus more and more flexibility. Even better, with Dexcom my person who was to be alerted if I had a low had an Android. Dexcom requires they get the app to get alerts and they could not get it for their Android. Sugarmate will work with any platform as far as I can tell for the alerts. So I have several people set up for alerts. At first I was a little frustrated because I thought it wasn’t picking up all the readings from Dexcom. But, I tracked it closely and the only time it doesn’t have data is when my Dexcom app indicates it’s not getting a signal from my transmitter so that’s on Dexcom G6. After just a short while on Sugarmate I’ve identified several contributors to high and low glucose levels or timing that I was struggling to figure out before. The app is so simple and intuitive I could easily see a young child or and elderly person having no problem using it. Give it a try. Like me you may suddenly find that confusing and frustrating world called diabetes becomes a lot more manageable. Doug

I have an 8 year old and we have the dexcom G6. This app has been an amazing addition to the G6. We have greatly improved our averages. We have gone from a 180 average down to 161 average in the past week of using this app. I have the phone call subscription as well. It works! I received a waking phone call at 2am letting me know he was 57. So we don’t fear going to sleep anymore! Sleep easy and get this app!

Beware of following the troubleshooting steps. I did and it suggested signing out of iCloud and now I can’t sign back in! Very frustrating!

I have never written a review for an app before. I love this app! I wish I had found it sooner. I love being able to have all of the data available immediately to assess how things are going overall. It also works great with the Apple Watch once you figure out how to set them up together.

Why this is not the official Dexcom App is beyond me. It puts the SHARE AND FOLLOW apps to SHAME! Better integration with the Apple Watch, opens up the ability to have numerous followers (Which is HUGE for caregivers). Customer Service is incredible. Help tools are idiot proof. It is an absolute gift.

I would give this app more than just 5. Best diabetes app, specially for those using a Dexcom CGM. It's little things like being able to constantly see my blood glucose levels on the menu bar on my Mac (no need to take my phone out or even glance at my watch) that make this app special. THANK YOU! to the developer!!!
