It's OK

It's based on quite a bit of luck and a little strategy

Great strategy game... Even better since the updates!

douglsmith

I originally reviewed this when it first came out and I gave it four stars. I enjoyed the gameplay and how much I had to think about things, but there were a few rough edges. Now it's been updated and it's even better! This game has a lot of depth with tons of levels with three medals you can win for varying levels of success. And let me tell you, I've spent hours plenty of times to get a gold medal on just a single level. The levels are that well-designed! You literally have to come up with a strategy for lots of play-throughs before you find the optimal path. To the the people saying this is boring... It's no different from playing Angry Birds levels and trying to get three stars. I don't see anybody complaining about that and saying Angry Birds is repetitive. In my opinion, Stoneship is much, much more engaging.

Arrghhh! Thar she blow!

Stoneship is a fun game, but I hope to see Cyan Worlds do something related to the D'ni culture next. The D'ni storyline is unique. Pirates are ubiquitous.

Meh

jimtut

There were several glowing reviews for this game, and I like Cyan, so I gave it a try. Meh. The screen is confusing. Which icon is for # of sailors? Why are they on the side, when the # of men in towns is shown next to the town? For that matter, why not show the dumb ship in the game?!? The game is called Stoneship, but you almost never see the ship. More importantly, though, the gameplay just isn't that interesting. It's like a combination of Minesweeper and a tower defense game, without being as much fun as either. Read that again - Minesweeper is more fun, yes, Minesweeper! It's only $1, so it's not like they're asking too much. Just save yourself the time and try a different game...

Not working with iPad 2

There are bizarre square blocks popping up during opening and the gameplay. When the pirate ship sinks a white block surrounds it. It is distracting enough to quit the game without giving it a shot. That said, I see no one else has complained about the same issue, so perhaps, it's just an bug related to the iPad 2. I look forward to playing this when the problem is fixed.

Fun and unique

I've had a ton of fun with this game. It's unique and the puzzles do rely on trial and error but despite that the fun visual style, solid controls and good mechanics make for a fun little time waster.

A Fine Game...But runs choppy..1Pad2

Ultra Marroon

All of the other reviews cover a lot of what this game offers. It is a very nice strategy game and definitly fun for young and old alike. The one problem with this game is that it is NOT a fluid screen on the iPad2. Squares are invisible and the graphic part of the game does take a hit. The game still plays, but very choppy and not easy on the eyes.UM

Want to like it

AustinStorm

I want to like this game, and I like the idea of 'exploring' a map by revealing the tiles, but if there's any strategy here I don't see it - it's all dumb luck or repetition. More frustrating than fun.

Problem

Went this game will be fix ? It"s sad this game has bug and I spent 1.99 $ I want money return

As others have said, does NOT work on iPad 2

Lil Pips

Cyan is well versed in macs so it comes as a bit of a surprise that this game has as many issues as it does with the iPad 2. Do not buy this game if you are using that device, until this app gets updated. In terms of gameplay, this is a fairly shameless copy of Oasis with really no new features other than the new location.
