Avoid Completely

Capt Mat

This game and its creators are only interested in one thing and that is money. Even as a huge Star Trek fan, it's impossible to not be offended by the greed of the developers. They even have the audacity to offer in game packages that cost $100. I have spent exactly 4 dollars on this game and I regret every penny. I have played it for several months and the game still has crippling bugs since the time it was launched. Also, the developers are now releasing essentially empty updates with single changes to have negative reviews not show up in the App store. Stay away from this game and especially stay away from this toxic corrupt company Disruptor Beam.

Excellent

Much enjoying this - great game.

Boldly Go...

Updated for newest release... I have yet to spend real cash to play this game. I'm contemplating the monthly card but as of yet cannot find any details for how the fee is charged to renew (auto or otherwise), so the jury is out on that. The game has stalled a couple of times, but I've had that happen with other games I've played so it isn't a deal breaker for me. I've been enjoying this one quite a bit, especially since I finished Plants vs Zombies 2. I needed something that was a bit more challenging. I just wish this one had a game play manual since some features are hard to figure out. Again, I don't work for the company despite the allegation that "all" positive reviews are from the developers. I am, however, a diehard Trekkie for decades. **************** Despite the proliferation of negative reviews, I downloaded this and started playing last night. It was, after all, the 50th anniversary of the premiere of ST:TOS and I couldn't think of a better way to spend my evening. I'm enjoying the game play quite a bit. It's very much a "choose your own adventure" style game which is fun. I like the idea that you can have crew members from across the Trekiverse. I started with a very decent crew compliment after I chose Captain Kirk (who is and always will be my favorite captain). I've managed to level up my characters in a decent amount of time, score decent rewards from missions and complete some of the daily challenges. Overall, I think that if you play strategically, you won't have to spend your hard-earned cash to enjoy the game unless you're a Ferengi and want to game the system. It might take some ingenuity to complete all the missions without expending actual cash, but isn't that the nature of Trek after all? As far as playing with the sound on, there's something infinitely comforting about the sound of space travel, even if we all know that there's actually no sound in space. The sound of the warp engines humming is oddly soothing, almost as if I'm in my home away from home. My only complaint is that the Alexander Courage theme isn't present. The game did hang briefly when I mashed too many buttons at once but a brief restart of the game solved the issue, it has not had any issues since. For those who claim that all the positive reviews are written by employees of the company, understand that I am in no way affiliated with the game designers or their distributors.

Player Beware

JX3-009

This game started out very enjoyable! Hell I even threw enough money to get to VIP Lvl 12. But then after an update things took a drastic turn for the worst. I found myself spending close to 1,000 chronotons for ONE item in away missions. My shuttle craft mission failure rate is well over 50% and that's including 4/4 stars at lvl 100 completely equipped with a few 3/5 stars too WITH shuttle boosts. Spending dilithium on the premium rewards only gives me the same junk characters which include Crappy Kazon and TOS Klingons. I already lost a few friends after these changes took place so I don't know how much longer I'll be sticking around. Maybe once they weed out their original client base all the new players will give them the cash they want not realizing this game use to be stress free.

Best with audio on

Gmhyfd

The game uses real audio from the characters and the music is great too. It's making me want to re-watch all the shows.

Exspensive, Fun, but lots of glitches

Tom/Hou

Be prepared to spend to advance and then spend more cause things vanish and characters repeat, delete them, get em right back, delete, get em again, and repeat. Game forces you to spend $100's of dollars to advance.

Star Trek game is awesome

Lt Commander Lukas

Fun to play. Really celebrates 50 years of Star Trek history

Frustrating

TimeLord75

Easy to advance at first, but quickly drags you down. I've spent hours grinding to improve & equip crew, only to continually get crushed on missions. Spent some $$ on items, can't imagine how anyone could play without. To make matters worse, the game completely fails to capture that "Star Trek" feeling. Eats battery life (iPhone 6s). Save yourself the headache.
