Every time I try to run the speed test, download works fine but when it gets to upload it say error with socket, try again and I’ve tried several more times and it never works, always the error. And you can’t move on to the next step without a speed test!
After many attempts; the option to re-test the connection with the network tool After installation does not function.
Downloaded this app to assist with setting up my Magic Box, but it's not. I keep running into the same problem: Upload Test Error, it comes up every time I run a speed test. Hopefully they can solve this...if not, what's that point of having a wizard?
Won’t allow me to connect to box until I pass a stupid speed test. However the app fails the speed test when it tries to test uploading with a socket error. There's no way this could've been missed with even the most basic testing. Why put out garbage?
Don’t understand why a big company like Sprint would allow such garbage to be released in the first place, and then allow it to stay broken even in the face of terrible reviews. The broken socket layer has been reported for months. Don’t even bother to put it on your device. Tech support can’t help with it...and you’ll definitely need to call them.
I had the socket error issue like everyone else and initially wrote a negative review, but it just took some troubleshooting and patience. I put the phone on airplane mode a few times and reset the network on my phone then it worked. I have full bars now when I only had 1 before.
I was able to do the signal test a total 3 times. But signals strength was still weak and slow. After the 3rd try, it stopped giving me any kind of readings and wasn’t able to actually find a perfect spot in my house for the stronger signal. When it was setup, it gave me a reading of great/perfect spot but signal is weak & to call Sprint for assistance. I’m just going to return it.
I get faster speeds on two bars(12-15 mbps) NOT using the “magic box” than I do on a full four bars (1-4mbps) USING this “magic box”. I did call in this issue but they were not able to fix it. I was supposed to get a call back today from the Engineers but that never happened. To think about it what’s the point just use your wireless broadband and just be done with it. This just one more complicated stressful thing in your life and you don’t really need it if you have a decent broadband connection.
There’s a lot of grammar issues in the app, and why don’t any of Sprint’s apps follow Apple design guidelines? Sprint half ****s everything it produces.
