Love the app and...

This app is lovely. It needs an update for iPhone X and better health integration with Watch. It’s a little glitchy. Everything about this app is great!

Needs work

The ads are annoying. And the app doesn't properly sync with the iOS health app so my step/walking distance for the day is never tracked correctly. Crashing when deleting food items. Runs slow at random.

Premium still shows ads

Very frustrated spark fan

In general, this is a fantastic app. However, I have premium and I continue to get ads, particularly around the time when my subscription renews. Now, SparkPeople support is telling me my subscription ended 9 days earlier than my renewal date and talk to Apple. This is very frustrating. In addition, when anything goes wrong, you need to download and reload the app.

I’m so disillusioned

I have used SparkPeople for years. You have been, bar none, the best food tracker I’ve used. However, your latest iPhone version has been perverted by ads and the iPad version (for which I paid for the ad free version) no longer works because you’ve sold out and haven’t updated to the latest iOS update. I refuse to any longer pay for updated versions of your app because I can no longer trust that you’ll update your app and be available across all my devices. If I thought a small annual fee would keep my ad free app working I might bite, but I’ve already paid for your iPad version for which you’ve f...ed me over....why should I trust you again????

Ads

So help me if I have five more YouTube ads pop in a row I am dropping this app.

The wonderful and the NOT!

SparkPeople has an enormous data bank of food items with the ability to use the recipe app which can transfer the recipe values to your log. They also have features such as favorites and grouping. The interface is simple to use. I also like the community where goals, disappointments and accomplishments can be shared. This is a huge moral booster. Unfortunately the ability to see your meal plan values, such as the diabetic values, is not available on the phone app but is on the pc site. I have used this app and or the computer version for over a decade and have loved the layout and usefulness. While the app version (which I paid for when it was first released) included everything I needed, it never lived up to the pc version. -(a great deal of apps are like that, especially those that deal with money transactions.) Still I used it. It didn’t have the obnoxious pop ups like they do now. I am greatly dissatisfied with the way SP app has flooded my pages with pop up ads. While I understand the need for some advertising to support the app, unfortunately pop ups have taken over and begs the question...what entity truly own this app. I no longer have the ability to simply enter my foods without the assault by these pop-ups. For whatever reason I am unable to purchase the premium version on my iPhone, which the only advantage it offers for me, as far as I see, is no pop up advertising. Also the price isn’t even listed in SparkPeople ads. Grr... A note to these advertisers, I will NEVER purchase your products no matter how often you use your annoying full page pop-ups! I would be more likely to at least look at your advertising if it were smaller ad at bottom of page or on a page that doesn’t obscure my ability to use the most important feature for me.

Stuck

I have to input my goals every time I open it and it won’t work as it says it does in conjunction with sparkrecipes. Nice concept but if I can’t get past the goals menu it does me no good.
