Decent practice Amp, mediocre reverb.

elxsound

The weakest effect on the Spark is the reverb. While there are “9” reverb pedals, the reverb must be the same in every pedal because the only difference between them is the time of the late and early reflections along with some EQ shaping. Otherwise it’s the same resonant reverb sound for the plate, as it is for the natural hall as it is for the ambient reverb. My biggest complaint is the volume setting on each amp module and preset. They’re all set very loud for my humbuckers. I’ve overwritten every preset with a better master volume setting, but if I switch amps modules I have to dial back again. This likely won’t be such a big deal after creating my favorite presets, but it’s annoying. Because I’m using the Spark as my primary practice amp I can live with the mediocre reverb. The other tools are decent enough to get wide variety of different sounds. it is too bad that there’s no master EQ dedicated to just the speaker output, but there’s always hope for an update later.

Lots of hum/Hendrix package

Or do

There is a lot of hum when not playing. It’s really bad. Have seen some other reviews stating the same issue. More hum than in my old 30 year old tube amps. The Hendrix package in my view is not worth to pay for. Some sounds not even close to Hendrix. Try Tonecloud instead.

Awesome amp, that I have to pay to use ?

Honchojake

All the settings are great, everything about the amp is great. No complaints with amp. And last update came out either more stuff!! Just added! No complaints or problems. Now for more stuff you have to pay for the Jimi Hendrix stuff? Really?! Why update it for just payed stuff, can we expect more of this in the future ?

Irritating

anthojc

Installed update 1.5….. the Jimi Hendrix features are a 20.00 upgrade. Was worried that this amp would eventually lead to a bunch of extra add ons. Less than a year in and I was correct. Save your money , get a Mac and buy Neural DSP plug ins that sound better than anything Spark is doing. Im Selling this thing on reverb and buying plug ins and cab sims . Done

chord analysis engine not working after latest update

RBspark

i recently updated the firmware and also bought the Jimi Hendrix pack and since then the auto chord detection has become flaky . It doesn’t work most of the times and displays error msg :- Unable to do chord detection video. I use the spark app on both iphone as well as on an Ipad pro and both have the same issue . Please look into this.

Great Amp .. unfriendly software

Believe95

I’ve been trying for days to get the amp modeling working but no matter what I do the only tones I get come directly from the amp. I even bought the Hendrix upgrade but have been unable to get it working either. It must be the operator because everyone on the net has it working. I’ll just keep trying. Why so unfriendly?

Wanna buy some DLC?

Avi Warner

App was previously pretty good but now there are Jimi Hendrix devices all over the device list just waiting to be clicked on and have a pop up ad in your face. Hide them, or put them at the bottom, or give me the option to suppress the ads please. Don’t treat this like a free app, I bought a $200+ piece of hardware already. Second item, I’m pretty sure when sorted by popularity, the top tones haven’t changed since I bought this, so maybe add top tones in last X days?

Exactly What I wanted

This amp is exactly what I’ve been looking for. I’m a hobbyist player and do not perform in a band. This amp makes it so you do not have to spend thousands on an amp and pedals to find the sound you are looking for. Instead, you can choose your sound through this amp with an incredible amount of tones already created, or create your own tones (lots of amps and pedals to get whatever sound you want). I really like all of the different jam tracks already on the app I can practice soloing to, or you can use other music apps to jam too. As I play by myself, this has been incredibly helpful in advancing my playing. One small issue I had using the app on my iPhone was that music would not play through speaker. Going in my Bluetooth settings I found there are two different Spark connections that you need to connect for music to play through the amp. There is the regular spark connection and an audio one. Make sure both are connected. The amp is not perfect, but overall this is an amazing amp and perfect for my use. This is the only amp I’ll ever need. If you mainly play guitar by yourself, this amp is a no brainer.

Amp is amazing, but app needs work

GeorgeFUKUSA

The Amp is awesome, but the app needs work. I have been unable to open my Spotify playlists/songs, I get an error “Invalid_grant”. I’m working with support on this issue. That aside, my biggest concern is finding songs that I am personally able to play with my current guitar skills. There are so many songs that I want to play that have super difficult chords that I just can’t play. I spend ages searching until I find a song I can play. The app would be so much better if you could search via what chords a song has. For example, set A, C, D minor, then search. Or at the very least, search for songs with the main Cowboy chords. The way the app works, it’s really only helpful for really advanced guitar players
