Best Calculator Ever!

Love that I can write what I’m calculating! Makes business life so much easier! Finally found a calculator app that works like how I think! THANKS! Your Forever Fan.

This is an essential app for me. Quickly solve costs and profits for the business. But I really wish that backspacing was by CHARACTER only. If a word becomes a variable for instance, it becomes a whole item that is erased as one unit opposed to erasing the last character and deconstructing the ‘unit.’

Completely freezes, app dead, restart iOS fixes

No menu item or “button” on the application has any effect. Running latest (1 week ago) iOS 11 on brand new mini. There may be some secret handshake I’m missing. After a lot of trials, some in which tapping/touching did nothing, some when it caused the app to crash (other 3D graphing apps were fully functional), I gave up and restarted iOS. At this point Soulver began to work. If this happens to you, just restart iOS. After solving this problem, Soulver works well enough but as mentioned in other reviews a few glitches and bad behavior to work around.

I use Soulver whenever I need to branch simple calculations. For example, I recently remodeled a closet and had to calculate : - the wall square footage in order to estimate how much paint I'd need - the perimeter in order to determine how much trim to buy When installing the trim, I didn't have to re measure because I already had the raw measurements in Soulver. Then, as a bonus, those same raw measurements proved invaluable when we went to The Container Store to design the Elfa storage. All of this could have been done in a spreadsheet, of course, but that would have been both heavy-handed and harder to read.

Soulver is great for basic budgeting, reconciling, etc. Let's you quickly think things through with easy line labeling and value references. Only thing that would make it better is an option to create templates. A definite buy!

I’ve been using Soulver for years, it helped me through college and I still find it even more useful at work. Simple design, powerful features, and most importantly, it is constantly updated.

App Crashes Everytime I Use It

I love the concept of the app because I'm able to keep up with my weekly budgets and be able to label the amounts. But the app crashes every single time I use it. I get the error message that I can't use this title, then it tells me that this draft cannot be saved. One I get those messages I can hit save as many times as I want to and it won't do anything. I have to force close the app multiple times to get it to work, and then delete all the blank drafts it created when I was getting error messages, yet the app was still creating new drafts. It's extremely frustrating. I only put up with it because the app is so useful; if I found a good replacement I would definitely stop using this one.

FeatureRequest: Right-align summation column?

Crazy useful for my personal spending-tracking. But for your list of “next things to improve” list: Can you format the summation column so the numbers are right-aligned or decimal-aligned please? Doing so would allow for easier scanning. Thanks.

I cannot imagine living without this app. I use it practically every day. Even better, it works great in iOS 11 split-view to perform calculations alongside whatever you are working on at the same time.
