Sortly is a great application that helps you keep inventory. It has been a great asset to my business.

Versatile App

Momgyver

I like this app and it does what it claims. One thing I’m using it for is keep track of my wine inventory and none of the barcodes are recognized, which I can live with, BUT once I drink the bottle and delete it from inventory, I can’t scan the barcode for the same wine, the next time I buy it, and have it recognize the barcode. I have to re-enter all the info again. P.I.A. To the developer—Please allow the app to save these manually entered barcode descriptions for future use.

Can't seem to work offline

My goods are located in a place with weak wifi. This app apparently requires updating in real time for every single adjustment? It's so tedious and time consuming to wait for it to reboot the entire catalog and all the photos after every entry that it makes pencil and paper look like a rocket ship. So you can't for example, do a count of all goods in a folder off line, and then sync it when you are done. It works offline, but as soon as you go on line you lose all the data you just entered (it reverts). Perhaps there is a work around, who knows? As far as I can tell from 30 minutes of looking, their customer service consist of a list of questions and answers, none of which mention off line adjustments. They don't seem to have interest in communicating/servicing customers. So if your goods are in a refer, or basement or anywhere that does not have smoking broadband, or if your wifi plunks out occasionally, good luck. Maybe I am wrong, who knows, no one to ask.

We currently do HnB which has tons of inventory. We tried numerous apps and choose Sortly over all of them. For numerous reasons including; Ease of use for novice or pro. Navigation on site is easy to learn. Use on iPhone or iPad. Very reasonable price, with free trial option. Able to edit photos or description with ease. Personal attention from CEO. Has everything we could ask for plus more. We highly recommend this app for one and all!!

An invaluable tool!

Sortly has been a godsend for our collection. For years we have tried to find a tool or technique that would allow us to accurately and efficiently organize and retrieve information on our collection. When we found Sortly we knew we had a winner. How did we ever manage without it? The fact is we didn’t. Since we started using it we have actually found items we forgot we had, been able to value our collection more accurately than ever before, create categories and separate items with ease, and so much more. With one exception, every question has been asked and answered in a timely and complete fashion. Thank you.

Love This App

I’ve always struggled with how to digitally organize things, and this app is fabulous! For example, I like to decorate cookies, and I have a lot of cookie cutters. This app helps me to keep them organized and allows me to quickly see what I already have so I don’t duplicate a cutter. My only request: It would be great if I could add a second picture. The first picture is of the cutter with a ruler so I can quickly see the size. It would be nice to be able to also add a picture of a cookie that has been decorated with that cutter. Or for the cutters that are designed for words ( like “Mom”) to see a pic of the word design since it is hard to tell when you are just looking at the cutter what word it represents.

It wasted my time

Items cannot contain items

Review update after using for half a year: this app has become one of the most important on my phone. However, the fact that items which are folders do not have a field for the price is killing a lot of the comfort. I would also need to be able to link items together (i.e. create relationships between items in the same folder or different folders) but I realize this is a very specific request, like custom fields, or multiple currencies. Anyway, I saw there is now a different app called Sortly Pro, which has more of what I need. I’m not sure yet how I feel about that. The subscription I am paying was supposed to upgrade my current app, not to support the development of another sister app... Original review: I have different photo cameras with different memory cards attached to those cameras. Or, I have an expensive backpack, and some items in that backpack. Sure, you can create folders, but folders do not have the properties of items. Another huge problem is the photos are low quality when taken from the app. I hope this does not mean that the app will crash soon on me, because I prefer to import high quality photos instead (which can add up to large database size) Other than that, amazing app. Can be used for many very different purposes and concepts. Response to the response: the solution given is cumbersome when you have many nested levels. That’s what I’ve been doing, it’s a good workaround, but why not allow custom fields on folders and items. That would solve many problems, including item cost depreciation, which is tremendously important. Also, why not have support for multiple currencies. Having a default currency is fine, but some people travel a lot. Sortly is an excellent expedition tool.
