I wouldn't recommend this app to anyone. It is purely a portal to their website. It doesn't retain login credentials allowing you to just open the app and start viewing your account, you cannot login with your fingerprint, you cannot lookup your reservation even after you log in without having memorized your long reservation number. The usability here is no different than that of a Safari shortcut.

The app is pretty promising, allows me to easily browse car options and reserve, along with seeing upcoming and historical reservations. However, some of the features (such as preselecting your car) never work for me. It also only allows me to preselect my car after my reservation starts, whereas you probably want to select your car before going in to pick it up. When it gives you the option to call a hotline, it only calls an international number.

Booking the car with the app was very simple despite the different locations for pickup and drop off. Picking up the car at the airport was quite easy. The attendant did push to have more insurance on the vehicle, which I did add on reluctantly being that I was told I'd be charged if even a little stone would hit the car from cars in front. Nevertheless, I was promised an upgrade at checkin, which using Sixt before I am not a fan of their "upgrades." Even though I have a US passport, I hate driving large cars and prefer a manual gear box. The last time I used this company with a friend, we requested an A4 size with manual, they gave us an "upgrade" to a 5 series BMW - needless to say, that car was way too large, especially since we were driving to Italy, so we demanded a car like we requested.. finally ending up with a manual A4 wagon, which was still to large for certain areas we were driving. This time, they ended up giving me a SEAT Leon wagon - it actually was perfect, be it that I was transporting family members around for a wedding and tourist locations, though found it too big in some areas of travel. However, I was quite surprised how nice the SEAT drove and the functions the car provided (car play with iPhone). It was a nice upgrade all in all. At the end of the trip, despite all the construction at the Ulm Bahnhof, the attendant gave clear direction to where I needed to take the car, and the drop off was very easy. I will use Sixt again in the future - I did enjoy their service. I do hope next time they can "upgrade" me to a faster version of the car I originally booked (i.e.: upgrade from VW Golf Standard to Golf GTI), instead of something bigger in size. I might be able to deal with not having a manual gear box if that's the case.

Need to add Touch ID for iPhone users, I do not like having to login with password each time I open the app. Most apps allow users to at least remember passwords, this one will not allow iPhone to remember password or user id. Also have to keep inputting reservation number and secret code each time I want to look at current reservation. After I login, it should present me with my current reservations. So far not so good to me!! Need to update and add these features!
