Since the last update this is a different game much more enjoyable I’m playing this game every day, this is a very realistic sub simulator
Wish you guys would update it more often. I would pay. Can’t find any submarine simulators out there that are this quality.
The graphics are nicely done and the game leans more towards ‘simulation’ than a ‘Call of Duty’ on water knock-off some of the other comments complain about. Overall I have gone on several patrols and enjoyed the weather effects, fog of war etc...its all there. My only request would be a higher variety of missions (sandbox atm) and war targets.
I've been waiting a long time to play Silent Hunter on a Mac OS. This is a great start! But compared to Silent Hunter 4, it has a ways to go. On the big map, too much time is wasted finding challenging encounters, i.e. big targets along with destroyers and cruisers to protect them.
This is CLEARLY THE BEST. No campaign? So what! Campaigns to me are pretty bad for me. I LLOOOVVE the fact that it is realistic and you can go wherever whenever NO FIXED PATH NO FIXED MISSIONS. America fights for freedom and this game is all about it. Worth the price tag. A MUST UNDERLINE MUST HAVE GAME PERIOD. DESERVES 1,000,000,000 stars.
Deck gun has no range finders thus its useless. No torpedo computer thus lots of wasted torpedoes. No ping sounds from enemy ship. Destroyers magically swerve around most torpedoes. Too few torpedoes on board. Takes far too many torpedoes to sink enemy ships. No log book to review and analyze. Difficult to see.
Just picked this one up and it is a really good sim/game. It pays homage to the great sub sims of the 1980s and 1990s (Silent Service I & II, Red Storm Rising, etc.) and does it well. The game has decent graphics but this is more than made up for with the gameplay. There's a lot here and you don't have to micromanage the sub, so it strikes a good balance between game and simulation. Firing solutions are auto calculated (you get a three color indicator to show the quality of the solution (red, yellow, and green) and you get a deck gun. But the moment you thgink it's too easy and get cocky, the enemy will pound you and you will die a very quick death. Great game, pick it up. There are zero additional things to buy in the game, the opurchase price gets you the full game. The devs say there is more coming so I recommend it for anyone looking to scratch their sub sim/game itch on mobile.
Very good simulation but could use some control optimization. Guide is online instead of in game.
If you enjoyed silent service on your pc ,you will enjoy this on your iPad. Maybe not as robust but pretty close.
Good game. Would like to see more challenging play though. Maybe TDC settings for torpedoes. Sonar bearings to ships. Correct the tbt and periscope to read in relative bearing. These things would really make it stand out from games like crash dive Update: add another star for realistic torpedo reload times and battery recharge rates. Nicely done!
