Great App, but Sadly Unreliable

jpar0

I love the design, and when the app works it works well - and you can't argue the developers aren't giving us our money's worth with the new features they keep rolling out. Unfortunately all of that falls apart if the app only works 4/10 times. Remoting into my home Mac from my work Mac works great using both Back to My Mac and Remote Desktop, but over the last few updates Screens simply isn't connecting. When I contacted support we troubleshot my connections, all of which appeared correct, and I was eventually told there's a bug in OS X 10.11 which messes with remote connections. Must just be their remote connection, because all the others I have access to are working great.

Session locks up

iPhone 121

Anytime I switch to a different iPad app and then switch back to Screens the session is locked up and I have to disconnect and reconnect. This bug seems to have been introduced with this update. Pretty much a deal killer for me.

Major Issue with switching apps

justinwadejones

I like other reviewers have a major issue when switching from screens to another app and then back to screens. The video freezes, you have to disconnect and reconnect to fix it. If this isn't fixed soon it's going to be a deal breaker for this app for me. I bought this a few weeks ago and haven't had a great experience so far. I used the previous version and don't remember any major issues.

May 21 update is broken

jjb94703

A normally good app is almost unusable in the latest 5/21/2016 release.

Very little or no SUPPORT

iPad Composer

I contacted the company 2 months ago about my Mac client not showing a green light in the preferences app. It took them a month to tell me to restart my router. I did that and it didn't work so I told them and it's been silent. They don't respond. It's better to purchase Parallels Access or LogMeIn.

Great VNC App

UrbanMusicX

I love this app and since I've gotten it, it has been my go to VNC app. Although I was saddened by the lack of an audio playback feature, there are still things this vnc does that makes up for it. Also there are some things that would improve the app experience, for example stylus support, or a stylus touch mode, and also custom keyboard shortcuts for the toolbar. Other than that I wouldn't see why you wouldn't get this, amazing app ??

Feeling ripped off

VanillaMac

Most often it feels like it would take an act of God ( & I'm an atheist ) to get the timing lined up right, just to be able to click on anything & that's if you can even get the cursor to move, if the cursor even shows up, all while hoping that the app doesn't crash for the 18th X in the last 5 minutes... Using 300 Mbps cable internet , Apple extreme router , 2015 iMac Ethernet and iPad Pro , standing 5 feet away... Same results every time I tried ... Much better success with a multitude of free software

The Gold Standard

The Gold Standard in screen sharing apps!

Best remote access app I've ever used, iOS and MacOS

BeauTheSchmo

I've always been disappointed in the way Apple has done remote access. This is the best solution for that problem, it just works, and I can access it from my phone and my Mac. I love it. I've never had any issues with it, unlike other paid and free options.

Great since day one

nother app user

This app has consistently been feature-full with the gestures and options to make a tablet remote screen as fluid as can be. There are a few options that may be better for streaming video from a desktop, although that is usually about the resolution being streamed. I'm THOROUGHLY happy with the options and improvements they've made over the years. With a DNS service you can access your desktop from anywhere. I used my cellular service and hotspot and its serviceable (although your dataplan eat up its data with this type of use if you have a limit).
